Calm and beautiful arrangement - Edit
I ordered one of the smaller sets because I had eaten a few desserts before coming here, but the taste still came through!
Read moreI enjoyed all the small dishes—especially the tofu block with wasabi 💛 and I recommend the small portion of rice if you’re on the fuller side upon arriving :’)
Sadly, couldn’t try the desserts, but really should have saved my stomach for them!
I came here to find the restaurant before my reservation date and I couldn’t find it! The store is inside another store called Chabara and it doesn’t open until 11am, so you have to go somewhere else to wait. Otherwise, if it’s open, you just need to walk straight and you’ll see the name SHOJIN on the entrance :)
The reviews say to reserve, but when I came at exactly 12pm, only one other party was there! However, by 12:30pm, it was getting packed…

Nice experience - Edit
This is a lovely little place. We got the kitsune udon and a larger meal set. The udon was tasty, and we enjoyed the variety of textures and flavors the small dishes provided.

Really good soy meat - Edit
The very first vegan cafe we visited in Japan, it was a dinner time. At the entrance, a very nice girl led us to a table, we chose a fairly large set with soy meat and two types of sake. There were a lot of small plates with various delicious contents in the set, soy meat with sauce turned out to be very tasty. One kind of sake was better than the other, credit cards are accepted. It was nice to have quite a few guests from all over the world.

Pricy and small portions but good-tasting food - Edit
Was initially hard to find the restaurant. It’s located inside the Chabara (small shopping center) underneath the train line.
Read moreHad made a reservation in advance but there were plenty of tables when I arrived early evening on a Friday. Fully English menu available.
Ordered the Kitsune Udon — the broth was a bit bland but the mushrooms and tofu were delicious. There were only two pieces of tofu provided, so I ordered extra tofu for 330 yen.
Ordered the Chocolate Mousse (including one scoop of vanilla ice cream) which was petite but flavorful.
Overall, the meal was pretty good overall but the portions were small for the price. Was left still feeling a bit hungry.

Perfect Lunch - Edit
Found with Happy Cow, this place offers a complete vegan menu based on the Shojin-Ryori cuisine, typical of the Buddhist monks for whose it is forbidden to kill animals. I selected a larger menu, which included small tastes of each meal. The food was surprising and the Super service. Happy ending with delicious chocolate dessert. Jump if you're around Akihabara.

Komaki Shokudo - Edit
I had the Karaage Set. The karaage and the miso soup were good, but everything else was just okay. Vibe was a bit weird and I was forgotten about at one point and had to re-order.

Could be better - Edit
The food is okay at best. They don’t use onion or garlic, which is really weird. Those are some of the go-to flavors for vegans, so excluding them seems like a mistake.

Vegan but Still Normal Japanese! - Edit
This place was excellent. So many vegan options in Japan are macrobiotic, which isn't really my thing. This restaurant is more of an affordable Shojin Ryori place, and I wish there were more like it. Highly recommended!

Traditional Japanese Food, Vegan! - Edit
We made an advance reservation for 12 people and they fit us in two tables. We pre-ordered all our food and desserts and they were very accommodating - I don't think they are used to serving such big parties all at once, but we had a great experience.
Read moreWe ordered almost one of everything on the menu (unfortunately I don't have pictures of them all) and I think everyone enjoyed their food. The curry was a little spicy by Japanese standards (but I thought it was delicious). We had one person (non-vegan) who ordered the Kitsune Udon and she absolutely loved it. Like other reviews mentioned, the omu-rice (omelette) was a bit strange - the omelette was more like a pancake.
Of the desserts, the berry mousse cake was the best by far (in my opinion) and the matcha cheesecake was a bit underwhelming. The matcha parfait was a fun dessert!

Komaki Shokudo Kamakura Fukushikian - Edit
The restaurant offered a variety of vegan Japanese set meals - choose main dish and rice ( you can choose size and type of rice like azuki brown rice or regular rice) and traditional Japanese side dishes
Read moreGreat place to enjoy Japanese traditional meal and sweets, you can make it healthier if you opt brown rice
I went to lunch which is cheaper but dinner has more selections of dishes and also dessert!
If you want to eat dessert ( I wanted to eat grilled dango which you can grill at the table ) you need to book!

I had the Komaki lunch set meal, it was delicious! The crunch of the fried fu was excellent. I also had the chocolate mousse cake which was also great. I recommend this restaurant, although like others have said, a reservation is ideal as there are only 5 tables available!

Delicious but pricey - Edit
All vegan menu and it was very delicious! The Ramen broth was amazing. As a vegan I was spoiled to have so much choice but didn’t expect it to be that expensive.
Read moreOn top of that there was a bit of kitchen issue where they somehow just took forever to prepare the meal for my partner. We waited around 30min for our food and after my food arrived we waited for my partners meal for about another 10min , then I started to eat😅 (my partner still waiting… hence the almost finished meal) We went 1 hour before the kitchen closed so idk if that had an impact. Still I was kind of upset😒
Pros: Food was amazing
Cons: Price, Long waiting

Good spot tucked away in a small mall - Edit
Small restaurant within Chabara Mall near train line. It’s right beside a food market and coffee shop. The menu was fully vegan with a good amount of Japanese style dishes. We got the vegan “chicken” karage and the udon noodle soup sets. Both good. My only negative remark was that it was quite pricey for the amount provided comparing to other restaurants.

Cozy restaurant with tasty food - Edit
We ordered the Karaage set and Kitsune Udon. The Karaage set is diverse and offers several tasty side dishes. The Karaage itself is soft but a bit on the blander side, the sauce definitely compensates for it.
Read moreThe Kitsune Udon is very tasty and it was a perfect meal after a long trip. The tofu in it is sweet (which was a surprise to us), but pairs well with everything else.
The only downside is that it is a bit pricey though.

In my opinion, too expensive for the food we got. Sure you get multiple little dishes but none of them was anything special besides the karaage. They raised the prices from the pictures in google maps and we didn't expect to pay that much. One time and no more.

Nice little tasty place - Edit
Nice little restaurant with friendly staff. We tried two different menus, and both were delicious, though the one with the fried soy was particularly good—better than the other, in our opinion. We visited when it was quite empty, so it was comfortable and spacious. The restaurant is located in the ground floor of a shopping mall.
