Amazing

Just had lunch here and absolutely loved it! Very welcoming and friendly staff who were helpful and encouraging when I tried to practice placing my order in Japanese. We had the curry and komaki meal sets and they were fantastic. A delicious hot soy milk houjicha rounded off the meal perfectly for me. Will definitely be back!

Edit to say I have since been back and had the kitsune udon which was absolutely delicious and bought their branded tote bag as I really want to remember this place. The bag itself is super cute and well made and has handled a lot of heavy stuff and rain so far.

Very delicious! And super cozy.
But we thought they have udon but they didn’t have it unfortunately, lunch menu was only three choices.🙈

Friendly Vegan Restaurant

Nice vegan restaurant serving traditional Japanese food. The staff were extremely friendly, and menu had a variety of options. Food was good too, but not something I may go out of my for, as flavours were not as good as some of the other places we visited. Though by no way a bad option if you’re in Akihabara and want a filling vegan meal with good service.

Really nice place!

I came for lunch and tried the set where you get a billion little dishes, including tastes of three of the mains (fu, karaage, and curry). It was really good! I was afraid it would be too much food but the portions of each tiny dish were kept really small so while I left feeling full and satisfied it didn’t make me feel like I was over eating. There was a wait but the line moved quickly. I think this is the type of place that is better for lunch than dinner.

Average Tofu Sets

I was surprised to find a vegan friendly tofu restaurant in the middle of Akiba. It was sort of the last spot I'd expect but a nice treat given we were in the area and I was looking for plant-based options.

Like others have shared, the service here seems hit or miss. The greeter was also the server and cashier, so I could tell being a one-womxn show can be challenging. However, we didn't get super friendly vibes from them upon entry and it almost felt like we were inconveniencing them by patronizing their restaurant.

Nonetheless, we got to ordering our meal. Most sets are around ¥2200 - ¥2500, which is honestly quite steep for the quality of food you get. We each ordered a different set - one with soy meat karaage and another with a tofu steak. Both of these were fine and the rest of the set was a mini sampling of other tofu related dishes and veggies.

I enjoyed the meal but wouldn't say it was mind blowing by any means. With more tasty vegan restaurants popping up, I wouldn't say coming back here is on the top of my list given the food quality and price.

Cards are accepted here as well.

Wow, hugely disagree! This place is incredible! Kyoto level Buddhist vegan food in the middle of Akihabara! Everything is chosen and balanced to perfection.

One of the best "fried chicken" I've had. Such juicy and fun texture. The staff was really kind and food was delicious 😋 highly recommend their organic ginger ale too!

Vegan option near Akihabara

Meals are good. Easy to order, the staff speaks English.

Don't order the parfait, it is not good.

Wonderful ramen in small café

This café was very welcoming and I had an amazing udon dish with a fresh ginger ale. The waitress spoke very good English. I went on a Sunday evening and the café was quite empty with plenty of seating available. They also sell ingredients and a (Japanese language) recipe book.
Note I found the café quite hard to find, it is inside CHABARA. There is no sign for the café from the street.

Pros: Welcoming atmosphere, Fantastic food

I came at 6pm on Sunday and many items were sold out. Only a limited selection remained. What I did eat was good!

Relaxing Repast

This is a Lovely dinner spot with a delightful staff. There was an English menu with photos. Several items were unavailable but there was enough to chose from. Vegan diners are used to limited selection so having more than one thing to choose is a treat for me! The food was tasty and plentiful by the time you add the multiple dishes served. I did have room for soy ice cream that was delicious!

Fully vegan, delicious food!

Not the cheapest option, but well worth it! Everything on the menu is fully vegan and the staff was exceptionally kind! Though you might need to wait a little, until you get a table as the store is a bit small.

Bit expensive but great food

Loved the meals here, and so thankful to find a vegan restaurant so central in Akihabara.

It was a bit expensive compared to other dining locations, and I had to constantly refill my own water even though it was table service. It looked like two woman were doing all roles of the restaurant, however would stay mainly in the kitchen.

Pros: Traditional food

Cons: Expensive

Worth the effort to find it!!

Wonderful food. Calm atmosphere in spite of trains which you can't really hear, and people outside. Friendly staff, little English but more than enough to get what you want. I had a curry plate. Delish....

Good food but a bit expensive

I was expecting more of this place after I heard that the owner is the daughter of the famous Shojin chef Mari Fuji, who is teaching cooking classes in Kamakura and all around the world. The food was good, but I had to wait quite a bit for my order, and I found the portion was small for the price. But I want to try another time.
The matcha pudding was very yummy.

Pros: Polite staff, good quality food

Cons: long waiting time, Bit pricey

Delicious Vegan Meal and Great Service

We were in Akihabara and found Komaki Shokudo on Happy Cow and it did NOT disappoint. Service was amazing, English friendly, and perfect portion size.

It's inside Chabara for reference. No reservation was required, unlike what Happy Cow has under the restaurant profile

Excellent food

Simple food?? This was a feast! A lot of excellent food for a very reasonable price. I got there at 12:30 and got a table right away. Might be a good idea to book ahead if you're more than 2 people as the space is small. Fast and friendly service, and in English too.

Pros: Good food, Good service, Good prices

Simple yet delicious!

I came in solo, didn’t need a reservation and was seated immediately (it was 12:30 in the afternoon on a Thursday) the menu only had 3 options so I got the traditional set (maybe I’ll come back for the curry set) IT WAS BOMB! Tofu katsu, purple grains rice, pickled veggies, miso soup, and two other small dishes I don’t even know what they were LOL. It was all so yummy. I’ll be back!

Delicious and comforting traditional flavors

This place has a small changing menu with delicious flavors. My favorite set has been a soy karaage set. They often have many small portions of various things to try and it is nice especially if you don’t typically eat Japanese food. You can try many things.

Pros: Traditional flavors with variety, Great taste, Great display

It was fine

Had high expectations, but in the end it all was a bit flavorless. Good portions and price, but IMHO not a must.

Pros: Good food for the price

Cons: A bit flavorless
