Beautiful and tasty - Edit
Choice of sets, all vegan and in the Buddhist style. Absolute lifesaver for two very tired vegans on their travels! The cafe is tucked in the back corner of a little shopping complex under the railway lines just up from Akibaura station. Turn right as you enter and walk through to the end. Offers ryori shohin sets starting from 1950JPY.

Beautifully presented set meal. All the items were delicious. It is slightly on the costlier side, because I ordered a set meal. Service was good. Thank you!

Disappointing - Edit
Summary: looking for vegan shojin ryori? Go somewhere else, anywhere, this is expensive and basic. All other vegan places are worth more. (Also if you are gluten free this is only offering you a boring curry, go anywhere else)..
Read moreContext: I've been coming to this place for 8 years, it's up and down, but recently it's mostly disappointing. The food is absolutely not worth the price (this place costs close to 10000 yen for two) and it's quality is below any other shojin ryori offering vegan in Tokyo.
If you are gluten free: absolutely forget this place and don't be tricked by their reservation form, after all that hassle, you will arrive and the options are a curry and that's exactly the same that would happen if you just come unannounced (I've done both). Again, disappointing food, disappointing behavior with reservations and accomodations, extremely expensive for what it is.
Cons: Unprofessional, Food quality varies a lot

Level 5 Vegan Food! - Edit
From the “Atre” exit of Akihabara follow the train track, it’s located under the tracks, there’s a hidden food court area called “Chabara”.
Read moreWow what a find! Shojin Ryori in Akihabara?!
I actually learned about this place when I attended a Buddhist Cuisine lesson in Kamakura, the sensei told us about it via a Japanese TV show that did a special about it.
I can see why, it’s amazing! All vegan all delicious!
This is Shojin Ryori, ultra strict Buddhist cuisine, normally restricted to Kyoto, do t miss it!!
Pros: Fried tofu, Fried vegan chicken , Authenticity

We couldn't get a seat in the evening without a reservation, so we tried our luck at lunch the day after and it worked. The menu is not exactly the same but we had a set menu and the food was utterly delicious. There is a lot of love in the making of the dishes and we found the price to be more than fine. The atmosphere was pretty relaxed, too. A definite yes if you are in the area.

Delicious matcha cake - Edit
I had already eaten so I went there to have some chill time away from the crowded streets of Akihabara.

Due to lack of much space you can‘t just sit and drink something, you have to order a dish. The cake was small and a bit pricy but delicious (very strong matcha taste).

Amazing - Edit
Just had lunch here and absolutely loved it! Very welcoming and friendly staff who were helpful and encouraging when I tried to practice placing my order in Japanese. We had the curry and komaki meal sets and they were fantastic. A delicious hot soy milk houjicha rounded off the meal perfectly for me. Will definitely be back!
Read moreEdit to say I have since been back and had the kitsune udon which was absolutely delicious and bought their branded tote bag as I really want to remember this place. The bag itself is super cute and well made and has handled a lot of heavy stuff and rain so far.

Friendly Vegan Restaurant - Edit
Nice vegan restaurant serving traditional Japanese food. The staff were extremely friendly, and menu had a variety of options. Food was good too, but not something I may go out of my for, as flavours were not as good as some of the other places we visited. Though by no way a bad option if you’re in Akihabara and want a filling vegan meal with good service.

Really nice place! - Edit
I came for lunch and tried the set where you get a billion little dishes, including tastes of three of the mains (fu, karaage, and curry). It was really good! I was afraid it would be too much food but the portions of each tiny dish were kept really small so while I left feeling full and satisfied it didn’t make me feel like I was over eating. There was a wait but the line moved quickly. I think this is the type of place that is better for lunch than dinner.

Average Tofu Sets - Edit
I was surprised to find a vegan friendly tofu restaurant in the middle of Akiba. It was sort of the last spot I'd expect but a nice treat given we were in the area and I was looking for plant-based options.
Read moreLike others have shared, the service here seems hit or miss. The greeter was also the server and cashier, so I could tell being a one-womxn show can be challenging. However, we didn't get super friendly vibes from them upon entry and it almost felt like we were inconveniencing them by patronizing their restaurant.
Nonetheless, we got to ordering our meal. Most sets are around ¥2200 - ¥2500, which is honestly quite steep for the quality of food you get. We each ordered a different set - one with soy meat karaage and another with a tofu steak. Both of these were fine and the rest of the set was a mini sampling of other tofu related dishes and veggies.
I enjoyed the meal but wouldn't say it was mind blowing by any means. With more tasty vegan restaurants popping up, I wouldn't say coming back here is on the top of my list given the food quality and price.
Cards are accepted here as well.
