I loved trying a different kind of cuisine. If you can, go during the week when prices are lower.

Good food but a bit pricey - Edit
The food was good but not the best so far, so I can’t justify the price that is more than average. I also had the parfait and it was very big (probably better to share😄)

No sé si repetiría.

Affordable spread - Edit
I’m assuming this is the same place as Shojin Komaki Shokudo, which is what is said on the sign. I had a fixed-price menu for lunch and paid 1,210 Yen for the smallest option, which had soy meat, rice, soup, salad, and 5 small sides. It was all delicious. The place is quite small with not much of a distinctive interior design.

Went twice - one of the best meals in Japan, then just good - Edit
We went here one night and got the special set meal and the sesame ice cream. After this meal, I claimed it as the best I had eaten in Japan so far. Everything was delicious. This was the best miso soup we had in Japan by far, and many of the little sides in the set meal were also some of the tastiest sides we had in Japan.
Read moreWe needed to return so went about a week later. Unfortunately the special set was sold out, so we got different meals. These meals were simply good set meals, nothing too special. We got there at 7pm for last order at 7:30pm. I felt sorry for anyone who came after us as the staff seemed to be rushing and seemed to pressure and hurry them up.
So go early to enjoy your meal and get the special set. Would recommend and return hoping to replicate that original visit.

Fun treat to have an all vegan set - Edit
The food was beautiful and the people were so sweet. I think I could have easily eaten both sets myself instead of sharing with my husband and still been hungry for dinner and a midnight snack, though. Lol.

Shojin ryouri - Edit
I've heard of the traditional buddhist cuisine of shojin ryouri a lot but never been to a restaurant with that as it's premise before. The food was served to us in the traditional style with lots of small plates, the main, rice, etc. It was nice to try it and the food was lovely. Didn't leave you too full, which keeps with the Japanese custom I believe.

Cute little restaurant - Edit
It is a very small restaurant under the Akihabara JR station. They serve Buddhist food, and the portions are a bit on the small side. However, everything was very delicious and it tasted very healthy.
