Serves meat, vegan options available. A small, popular authentic Mexican cuisine restaurant with a charming atmosphere & decor of Mexico located in the middle of Shizuoka City. Vegan choices could possibly include enchiladas, burritos, tacos, chips & salsa, guacamole, beans & rice. (The owner is friends with the owner of the fully vegan restaurant Ananda which is also listed on Happy Cow, and thus if you ask and tell him you're vegan, he can make many of the dishes on the menu vegan (pretty much anything that has a veggie option can be made vegan.) Open Mon-Sat 11:30am-2:00pm, 5:30pm-10:30pm. Closed on Sun, but call ahead be sure.

Authentic Mexican dining with vegan accomodation

A cozy small restaurant with a handful of tables (can accommodate a few parties of up to two or three) offering Mexican/Texmex dining with an authentic taste and atmosphere. Although not mentioned on the menu, the proprietor was amenable to offering a vegan (no meat or dairy) version of the lunch plate when I ordered. The flavors were good.

Great for going out with non Vegan friends

Definitely the best Tex-Mex I’ve had in Japan.
The vegetable burrito is vegetarian but can be made vegan upon request.
The guacamole is also vegan and the tofu tacos are vegan.

The owner is very friendly and happy to accommodate vegan guests.

I think this is a great place to take non vegan guests as everyone can get what they want.

On weekends, definitely get a reservation!
Takeout is also a possibility too.

Pros: Good vibes, Items can be made vegan, Great quality

Cons: Can be crowded on weekends

Authentic Mexican food and funky décor! But make a reservation on weekends!

This (along with Shiva) is one of the few locations in Shizuoka City that has vegan options and is open past 5 or 6 o'clock. It's wonderful that they have vegan options (the owner is friends with the owner of Ananda, a fully vegan restaurant in the city, and so he knows vegan well), but I was disappointed when I showed up right when they opened for dinner one night and were already fully booked for most of the night. The first time I went I went on a weekday and we easily got a seat, so if you plan to go on the weekend, you should call and make a reservation. The place has a really cozy and funky atmosphere! When I was able to get a seat, my friend and I got food and chatted and ate for hours.

The food itself is very good! It's definitely the most authentic Mexican food I've had in Japan and it's great that so many of the items on the menu could be made vegan. I just wish that they had vegan cheese as an option to add on!
