Lovely little pub with big beer garden - Edit
Vegetarian pizza was delicious and had lots on it.

Real ale. My preference is Directors at £4.65 a pint.
Great place in the winter with log fire. In the summer sunshine you can chill out in the extensive beer garden that has a fenced off playground for the children.
Dogs are welcome.

We came here having read the above reviews. Looked forward to trying something such as a tofu or bean curry of some sort. Or tofu fish & chips. Something other than a veggie burger so often served as a pub’s staple vegan option. Whilst staff couldn’t be more helpful, vegan options were limited to a vegan burger, sausage or pizza without cheese (they had no vegan cheese available). Desserts were disappointing with only vegan ice cream available. Even the fruit crumble was made with butter. So much room for improvement. Would be great to see even a fraction more effort & imagination going into vegan options as is put into their general menu. Although I have only given 2 stars for the food, the helpful service was 5 star.

Good selection of vegan main dishes from Tofu fish and chips to various curries, a salad and burgers. Friendly staff. Room for improvement on vegan desserts - only Vanilla icecream on offer out of a dessert menu of around 7 options.

Good good and quick service. Several vegan options on menu as long as you like tofu. The nasi goreng with tofu was very tasty. My son’s tofish and chips was very good too.

Delicious food and friendly staff - Edit
Our meal at the Sun Inn exceeded expectations. Not only were the staff beyond lovely, the food was fresh and delicious and came out quickly. My partner is Omni, so finding a good country pub in the north that serves his hearty favourites while providing a huge range of vegan options is a massive win to us. Would have given 5 stars if I could!

Delicious vegan food at reasonable prices. I highly recommend the vegan risotto. The vegan curry was OK, but the risotto was definitely a winner for me.

Have had two fantastic meals out with family at The Sun this month. We tried several plates from the new vegan menu, mains and dessert, which were all outstanding. Highly recommend The Sun to those who want plant based food that isn’t just fast food options.
