Delicious Muffin - Edit
Grabbed a quick muffin (pumpkin chocolate chip) and it was very moist and flavorful. Had a couple muffins to chose from and cookies for Vegan options. I remember this place 25 years ago, and it still has an eclectic vibe. There are coffee shops in town that are newer and more shiny, but Linnea’s is an institution.

YES! Open Late with Delicious Vegan Desserts - Edit
On a recent trip to SLO, I noticed that most spots seemed to close quite early. I was walking around town after an early dinner at Bliss Cafe, thinking to myself how much I'd love a nice vegan dessert and BAM! I happened to spot Linnaea's Cafe open for business. Huzzah! And the vegan cookies were really good. TBH, I should have picked up more for my drive home. :)

My favourite coffee shop of anywhere - Edit
Like I said, this is my favourite. I've spent a lot if time there. Everything I've had was good. The coffee is delicious, and there is always a wide selection of vegan and vegetarian baked goods. Meals are served as well with limited options most days, and there is live music in the evenings. Highly recommend the outdoor seating as well.

Amazing vegan cookies, charming atmosphere - Edit
The almond ginger cookie was terrific! Salted chocolate cookie was very good. They have organic coffee. The place has a warm, cozy, old timey vibe. If I lived here I would come here to work and read.

Pretty delicious - Edit
Super fun place to chill and/or study. The food is very good and the baked goods awesome. When I was in SLO it was hard to find vegan baked items so Linnaea's really hit the spot. But be careful--even though this place is listed as vegetarian, the rice crispy treats do have marshmallows with gelatin in them. Any other items that might come and go that could have gelatin in them (i.e. candy corn and fondant) probably do. Just a heads up in case you look out for that :)

Nice Little Oasis - Edit
Glad I found this place (on Happy Cow) on my way through SLO. In the heart of quaint downtown. Homey, comfortable atmosphere. Nice to have some good vegan bakery options. And they have many alternative milk options, including almond and coconut. I would have liked some more vegan breakfast options, but as I wasn't expecting that, I also wasn't disappointed.

This is my favorite spot to go to for something sweet! The atmosphere is adorable with the outdoor area out back. The cake is served in a generous slice and it's very tasty. They have different flavor options too!

Coffee Shop with vegan offerings - Edit
Linnaea's is a popular coffee shop with a lot of students working and studying. The place is open until late, so We were hoping for dinner, but there was little left from lunch. We managed a wrap and salad. There are several vegan desserts, the ones we tried were quite good.

Vegan Chocolate Cake!!! - Edit
My wife and I frequent Linnea's somewhat regularly. We love the vegan sweets they have. The best is the chocolate cake. Every time we have gotten it it is moist and very tasty. I must say that some of the other treats have been hit and miss. Generally the gluten free items tend to be too dry. I had a gluten free carrot cake where the frosting was awesome, but the cake was so dry it crumbled into powder. They do make them in house so that may not be the case always, but each time we have tried the gluten free deserts they have not been to our liking. So we stick with what is great and that is vegan chocolate cake!

Vegan Baked Goods with Coffee - Edit
I had read about this place on happycow and decided to stop in on my way through San Luis Obispo on two occassions. Was just here in June 2014 and here's Linnaea's Cafe my review update.
Read moreIt's a narrow coffee house that offers also an assortment of baked goods (with eggs, with dairy, or vegan). On the both trips I was here I saw lots of young people hanging out and either chatting with friends or reading or engaged on their computers.
All in all we've tasted a few varieties of their vegan baked goods (berry scone, blueberry muffin with oats, and another kind of muffin). The coffee is all right, pipin' hot. They charged me extra for soymilk in cappucino last time, which irked me. The second time around I got my coffee black.
The back garden is peaceful and relaxing.
Pros: vegan baked goods, garden seating, downtown location

Lovely little place with amazing ambiance ! - Edit
I love this little gem of a cafe! I get a special treat from there once a week because they always have great vegan cupcakes or some sort of goodie. The service is a bit slow but I just dont go there to get a drink if I'm in a rush :) The staff is very friendly and most of them have worked there a long time, seems like they have a nice little Linnaes family
