Vegan options are delicious - Edit
Novo has a few vegan options, and they are delicious. My husband and I had the lettuce wraps with braised tofu. They were out of this world. I also had the falafel wrap and it was very good. I didn’t try the black bean burger or the salads, but saw others enjoying theirs. The patio along side the creek is gorgeous and pet friendly. It’s pricey but if you want a high end experience, this is the place.

Great vegan options! Delicious - Edit
Clearly labeled menu items for vegans. Lots of options. The daily soup is always veggie/ sometimes vegan. I had a great vegan carrot curry soup. Mezze plate was delicious. Red curry with tofu was also delicious. There was even a vegan chocolate coconut pie for dessert. Great staff and ambiance as well. Will definitely return.

Lovely Creekside Dining - Edit
A lovely evening on a *hot* weekend. We enjoyed the samosa appetizer before eating Chow Novo (noodles) and Thai red curry as main dishes. It was a wonderful evening with great service and tasty food. (Samosas are not traditional size. Expect individual 2-bite size)

Decent Vegan Options - Edit
Vegan options were a bit of an after thought. Curries were good. Noodles were not.

Love the options they have but wish they had more - Edit
The lunch menu is pretty much a miss, I just get the tofu raps when I go for lunch which are amazing. But my favorite is the red curry at night. We used to order their chow mein too but since post covid it’s not what it used to be. Curry is still 10/10. I wish they had a vegan menu and more options. But best place for a fancy date night! Also call ahead for reservations because walking in is impossible now if you want to sit on the patio

A romantic dinner by the creek - Edit
My partner and I made reservations for an early dinner by the creek. There aren’t that many vegan options, but everything we ordered was fresh and made with seasonal fruit and vegetables.
Read moreFor an appetizer, we had the Novo Lettuce Wraps with tofu. I liked how it was served like a build-your-own wrap. The tofu was light, crispy, and well-seasoned, and there were three different sauces to dip the wrap in.
We ordered the Chow Novo and the vegan version of the Thai Red Curry. The Chow Novo was lackluster, but the red curry was the best curry I’ve ever had. It had just the right amount of spice and coconut milk with sweet and tangy bits of pineapple to balance all the flavours.
But the most memorable part of our dinner was the Chocolate Coconut Tart. Not gonna lie. The combination of the chocolate and fresh fruit was a life-changing experience for me! Though Novo is on the pricy side, the entire dinner was worth every penny.

Some vegan options - Edit
The menu has a few vegan options. They have a beautiful patio and the servers are very knowledgeable about not only what is vegan, but what is best and how to prepare it. I am only giving it three stars, because some of the other restaurants in town are SO good. I wouldn’t pick to eat here over the local veg restaurants or Luna Red, but it’s still very good if you need a fancy dinner with omnivores.

Vegan option came with eggs and cheese... - Edit
Novo has a beautiful creekside patio and good food. However, the last time I went there for brunch and ordered the vegan soyrizo breakfast wrap, it arrived with eggs and cheese. I even confirmed when I ordered that I did not want egg or cheese on it but the waiter seemed pretty disinterested—or maybe he didn’t understand the difference between vegan and vegetarian. So make sure you’re extra clear when you order here.
Read moreOverall, the vegan brunch options are lacking. There’s also a BLTA with vegan option. When I asked what the VO included, the waiter told me it just doesn’t have bacon—which basically makes it a $16 lettuce and tomato sandwich.
Pros: Outside dining
Cons: Vegan option didn’t come vegan , Expensive , Busy on weekends

Fancy food with friends - Edit
Novo is exceptionally well known in SLO and a very popular place for students to take their parents when they visit town. They have a lot of dishes that can be turned vegan which is nice. However, it's not my favorite place to count on for vegan food because it doesn't taste as good as other places even though they advertise it on the menu. The staff is well trained and food can get quite expensive. My favorite thing about this place though is the outdoor seating next to the creek, it is a beautiful place to enjoy SLO weather during the day.

Best Vegan Date Spot in SLO - Edit
Novo has several good vegan options and is SLO's best "fancy" restaurant option for vegans or vegetarians.
Read moreGet the tofu lettuce wraps as an appetizer. I also HIGHLY recommend getting the thai red curry entree...it's spicy, creamy, and dreamy.
Creekside patio, great ambiance, slightly pricey but its worth it for a nice dining experience.
Pros: Nice ambiance , Several solid vegan options , Great date spot
Cons: Menu never changes , Pricey
