Good Vegan Options in Downtown SLO - Edit
This restaurant serves delicious, fresh, organic burger-style foods. They have various vegan patties, vegan cheese, spicy veganaise, and good veg ingredients. As a vegan I would recommend this place for burgers/grilled cheese in downtown SLO.

Various vegan options - Edit
Decent sized vegan options on the menu and very clearly labeled. Overall, I think there's three or four different vegan patties for the burgers, which is nice. Have been here a few times and enjoy their food. This time I ordered the cauliflower burger but pretty certain my burger came with the veggie patty, cause it was identical in flavor and appearance to my husband's veggie patty burger. Still really good though. I love their sweet potato tots as a side! Extra cost but a nice treat instead of fries.

Great burgers for a great price - Edit
This place is not an all vegan joint, and they do offer some pretty wild offerings for non-vegans like buffalo. So that is where it is kinda out there, but they are very vegan friendly! They have tons of options for vegan and you can swap around tons of things for your burger like the patty and what you want on top of it.
Read moreMy fiance and I always get the impossible burger with the bean stalk. And I add cucumbers! They have vegan cheese and a vegan house made aioli which is really good! Their fries are vegan and seasoned really well! They also have some special items on their appetizers menu that are vegan. And one that is vegan and on a secret menu- and that is one of my favorite treats to get on occasions when we stop here. And that is the fried artichokes! Ask for sides of the vegan aioli. So good!
They also have great prices all around, including alcohol. They serve regular glasses and extra large one. I like to treat myself to a bootchcraft!
They also have HUGE side salads that come with the burger. A lot of times I’ll get the burger and get the balsamic dressing or oil and vinegar and share my fiancés fries with him.
**** also make sure when you order a burger here, ask for the vegan bun!!! It’s a whole grain bun! The regular brioche bun is not vegan!!
Overall this is a great place to get affordable food and drinks for everyone in your family, vegan and not! They also have a point system where you submit your email and can get credit towards future orders! So they kinda give back a bit which is cool!
They are generally not too busy so you can pretty much be guaranteed to get a seat when you come here!
Pros: Great vegan options for burgers, Great prices, Greta alcohol options
Cons: Serves exotic meat

Been there. I can make an Impossible Burger at home. Have you tried Ebony? All vegan, all food I can't make at home.

Where is Ebony? Is it local to SLO? I love finding a great spot of vegan options that I can’t make at home!! We generally come here only when we go out with family who isn’t vegan!

Ebony is also on Higuera just up a block from Burger Village, same side of the street. Amazing Ethiopian food! I highly recommend it.

Better places to go in SLO - Edit
They have a wide variety of vegan burgers, but our waitress was telling us about things they recently had to take off the menu due to them not actually being vegan despite being labeled as such! That certainly made me nervous. The food was mediocre. The fried pickles and the “vegan” wings aren’t actually vegan so avoid those they are just vegetarian. I probably won’t be going back.

That is super crazy! I’ve been coming here for a while. That makes me nervous. I was told the fried artichokes were vegan on a number of occasions and hope they still are

Great vegan choices/❤️pickles! - Edit
As others noted, this place, which is a national chain, offers many vegan burger choices. I had the mushroom burger with a generous serving of sweet potato fries and a side of the fried pickles, which are indeed addictive! The food was satisfying and very filling, and I appreciate that the place is primarily organic, as well. Service is slow; (we ordered online and there was no info on timeline)some servers were rude and invasive; also servers not wearing masks.

Fried Pickles Please! - Edit
Lots of vegan burger options, but I'm here for the fried pickles. I wish the side portion with the burger was bigger, but maybe the size is a blessing (because I would eat as many as they gave me).

The mushroom burger was great but didn’t seem very healthy. Wish they had whole wheat buns too. Still a good option for vegan burgers.

Hip burger joint with lots of vegan options - Edit
With COVID we had the option of seating outside or inside near the window and since it was cold outside we choose the latter. The menu had a dedicated vegan section including their house made burger, impossible, and beyond. Along side each burger patty was a recommended “pairing” which was really just a hipster way of pressing the various toppings. Since I wanted to try something other than the usual beyond or impossible burger I opted for the village burger which is house made. All I can say is dry dry dry.

The menu is quite fascinating for a burger place. This is definitely a "have it your way" place. Vegan, Vegetarian, food intolerances . . . no problem. Everyone can find just the burger for them.

Pretty good options - Edit
Appreciated a vegan bun option, the multigrain, and lots of choices. I got the Impossible with just standard toppings: lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles. I also got the chipotle ketchup. Very very tasty!

Lots of Vegan Patty Options - Edit
The service was really good! Our waitress Sarah was awesome. She explained the menu when we told her we were vegan. They had multiple different types of patty options. You can various toppings. They had just sold out of their gluten free vegan brownie, but we will go back to try that another time.

This place is so cool! They have so many veggie/vegan patti options! For the first time in a long time, I had a hard time picking which one to eat! We got the house Patti, mushroom, and impossible burgers. They were all delicious and I would come back for more!
