My favourite place in Amman - Edit
Everything I have tried at Bayt Sara has been excellent, but I would especially recommend the shawarma, the strawberry milkshake, and the hot chocolate.
Read moreThe food and drinks are fantastic and everything is served in very generous portion sizes, which are very reasonably priced.
The staff are lovely and provide really great service, plus the space itself is really comfortable and well maintained.
Bayt Sara's commitment to caring for the cats of Amman (which includes food, shelter, medical expenses, and rehoming) made it somewhere I am very happy to spend my money, and I can't wait to go back when I am next in Amman.
Pros: Fantastic food, Lovely venue and comfortable seating, Brilliant service

Best Vegan Shawarma! - Edit
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Jordan, vegan or not. I went to Bayt Sara for the first time today. I've attempted going in the past but sometimes the restaurant closes before 9pm if there are no costumers. The owner's brother, Samir, explained to me that the genocide has affected tourism and thus their business. Earlier today I called and notified them that I would be arriving and they were more than happy to reserve a place for me. I ordered the "strawberry milkshake" which was more of a strawberry smoothie rather than a traditional milkshake with ice cream. Despite the difference, it was still good. I ordered the Shawarma which was enough for 2 people or 2 meals. Amazing seasonings and flavors! The atmosphere is cozy and there are always cute cats around. I also got chocolate balls with banana and peanut butter for takeaway. My total was 20JD which is more pricy than most places but understandable given how uncommon the menu's ingredients are in Jordan. Samir and Sara were delightful to talk to! They even gave me a student card so that I can get a free meal after 2 purchases. I will definitely be a regular here!

Good options massive portions - Edit
Has the wrap and even though I was told the portion was large, this was really large. I am a big guy but even I was not able to finish the wrap. Fine for sharing but a lower price and smaller portion would be preferable to me.

Just wonderful - Edit
Simply amazing food, huge portions, wonderful owner. We ordered delivery due to being too far from the place and without a car. We are so happy with it. Just note they do not accept card payments (which is fair enough). Can only recommend!!!

Handmade vegan excellence - Edit
I was in Amman for a few weeks, and made Bayt Sara my first stop upon arriving, not knowing in advance how much I would come to love the place. The owner and her family are very welcoming, and make each dish themselves. Over the weeks I had the Romanian Crepes and an enormous wrap with soy chunks and a delicious garlicky sauce, which I ordered a second time for take-away so I could eat it while on a hike. I also tried the chocolate cake, which has delicious, creamy frosting made with coconut milk. Overall this place is a stand-out experience, and a welcome haven in Amman.

Nice place with very friendly staff - Edit
I liked the cozy place and its very friendly and passionate team with whom we had also nice conversations. The taste of the Vegan Shawarma was good. Nevertheless, it could need some ingredients which give some freshness to it, make the dish feeling lighter, and enhance taste, like some fresh herbes, vegetables or sauce for example. I would also prefer tables with chairs which make eating more comfortable.

Top notch! - Edit
Top notch food! We had the vegan Romanian meatballs with spinach and the crispy tofu sandwich ( similar to the chicken zinger). I would definitely come back. The food is light and rich in flavor. The place is neat and clean and most importantly the chef and owner Sara is friendly, welcoming and warm. We felt like we were visiting and old friend. The restaurant cares for cats and stray animals which to me counts.

Il proprietario del locale ci ha accolto calorosamente, facendoci sentire a casa: ci ha spiegato tante cose e abbiamo fatto una bella chiacchierata.

We had an amazing experience at lunch today. We were presented with a feast of truly delicious food and the warmest welcome by both humans and kitten. Visit for great food and to support the vital work being done to care for Amman’s street cats ❤️ immediately added to my favourites on HappyCow, truly deserving of being in the world’s top ten vegan restaurants for quality of food and all the community work being done by Sara and family

Perfect - Edit
Today, we had the privilege of meeting the chef at Bayt Sara, who is not only a culinary expert but also an environmental and animal rights activist. Learning about her significant efforts towards these causes made our experience truly wonderful. The vegan Shawarma we tried was not only delicious but also satisfying, and the green juices complemented the meal perfectly. The warm and friendly atmosphere at Bayt Sara made everyone feel extremely welcome.

Vegan weekend in Amman - Edit
I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant last weekend. To say I was pleased is like saying nothing - it was absolutely delicious. The reviews that appear here about the size of the food portions are not exaggerated at all. The portions are very large and leave your belly full for a long time. I had the opportunity to eat shawarma, a crispy tofu sandwich and, on the second day, lasagne and chocolate cake, which stole my heart. The pleasant atmosphere and delicious food was taken care of by Samir (I hope I remember your name correctly - please correct me if I am wrong😄). An extra nice touch was the cat, which I had the opportunity to host on my lap during my second visit to the restaurant 🩷 I highly recommend this place, to vegans and not only. If you want to leave the restaurant satisfied, full and at the same time make a contribution to help the stray cats - this is the place for you! Warm greetings from Poland and hopefully see you soon!
