Serves meat, vegan options available. At least some of the cheese (parmesan, gorgonzola) is not vegetarian. Also booze appears not verified as vegetarian (at least one wine made with gelatin). 有佳面包店 at 昆明市文林街天君殿巷5号 is a pizza, salad and soup place. No vegan cheese used. Bohemian vibe in the University area. Open Tue-Sun 11:00am-10:30pm. Closed Mon.

Yummy it’s pizza 😍

We found this cozy place in a small alley just a few meters from our apartment. There is a small room with just some tables in the second floor and the entrance and Kitchen in the first. After a long time of Russian and Chinese food we decided to choose pizza (without cheese). It was really nice and it taste a bit like the pizza at our favourite Italian restaurant in Germany. We got olive oil instead of cheese which was very nice.
The price was ok, we paid 88 Yuan for two pizzas.
All in all a nice place and highly recommend if you miss western food.

Great pizza, very limited choices

We only came here because after weeks of Chinese food we were desperate for a change in flavours. We didn't even look at other things on the menu but there were not a lot of vegan options anyways. We just ordered two pizzas without cheese (the waiter didn't speak English so we google translated). They brought us a little can of olive oil with the pizza instead of the cheese, which we thought was very nice because it really boosted the flavour. We added some salt which was on the table and had a very very delicious pizza with nice thin crust. Of course this is not comparable to the choices at an all vegan place but if you want pizza you'll get a great one here that is still tasty even without vegan cheese.
Also the place is just so cute! Really cozy and nice atmosphere.

As You Like, Kunming

I dined here last night with my Chinese co-diner. I'd really like to rave about the place. In reality I've some serious concerns:-

a) At least some of the cheese used is non vegetarian. Namely that cultural legislation doesn't permit the manufacture of lacto parmesan or lacto gorgonzola unless rennet is used. Both these cheeses are used in As You Like. This doesn't give a high level of confidence that management are aware of the concept of slaughtered animal rennet being used in cheese making. Whether the other lacto cheese used is vegetarian seems unlikely. It defo isn't vegan according to the server.

Explanation here on rennet and non vegetarian cheese:-

b) Similar to the cheese it seems management are unaware of slaughtered animal products used in the manufacture of alcoholic beverages. We had a look on barnivore at one of the wines the use, Estancia. This is what the less than inspiring info is there:-

Explanation here on non vegetarian booze

I will email this info to management to endeavour to constructive help them move away from these pitfalls. If they do tackle these concerns I'll update the info here accordingly.

The above concerns are regrettable. This establishment has a nice vibe.

Cons: Cheese made with slaughtered animal rennet, Booze made with gelatin

Good vegetarian place

Is a comfortable small place with nice staff. For vegetarian people is a great place but not so much for vegans. As a vegan I was a bit disappointed to see so few vegan options. The one thing I often buy is bread. Very good and cheap bread. They also have some self-made dark chocolate.
I just think that a vegetarian place should have at least 50% vegan products (my opinion). But for vegetarians don't worry, they have plenty of options.

Pros: nice little place, good bread, nice staff

Cons: little vegan options, unexpected closed days

In a small alley you find this cute place, with a cosy area and really nice staff. Vegetarian; but just say that you are a vegan and they will do the sallad, pizza or soups totally vegan. Before they didn't have any veganbread, but after asking for it, they have not started with veganbread. The breadplace I go to every weak to get my bread! Love it!
Allthought, the pizza is not so tasty in the veganway, so keep to the other tasty things!

Pros: Nice Staff, Cosy area
