Best western food in town

Vegan dishes are highlighted in the menu and other dishes can be made vegan on request. Great tasting Mexican, Middle Eastern and Chinese vegan dishes plus lots of healthy salads, sandwiches and juices.

Pros: Lots of vegan options + Vegan milk, Supports social causes , Friendly staff, Large size portions

Cons: No vegan desserts

Nice place to sit and relax

There were many vegetarian and vegan options labelled on the menu, in Chinese and English, including non dairy milk for coffee. Staff didn't speak much English but we could communicate by pointing at the menu. Food was good but not incredible.

Good food, nice place

Have clearly marked the vegan options on the menu. Good options like a burger, burrito, tacos and a salade. I had the veggie burger which was pretty good (all freshly made) and the fries are great!!

Pros: Nice (non Chinese food) options

Popular Place

We arrived around 7pm on a Friday & the place was packed, a waitress found us a seat until a table became available. We had the vegan burger & falafel pitta with chips, plus raspberry lemonade. The burger was essentially the falafel mix in a burger patty but it was house made with fresh veggies, tasty lettuce, onion & tomato, great stuff. The pitta was good too, not the greatest falafel I've had but by no means the worst. The hand cut skin on chips were excellent & the raspberry lemonade tasty. The price is really good too. We returned to Kunming so came back, we shared the vegan nachos which were plentiful and delicious, so good. We then crossed the road to the Loft for pasta & to get sandwiches to take away.

Good food

I ordered the vegan burger with a small side salad. It didn’t occur to me to say no cheese on the salad... so the salad came sprinkled in Parmesan cheese. Managed to scrape some off, but most of the salad went uneaten. So if you order salad here make sure you tell them no cheese. The burger was okay.

Amazing!!

My friend and I really wanted a place that felt like home, and this was the place! We spent the whole day at Salvador’s, reading and indulging in the delicious vegan food! Their menus is extensive and has a lot of vegan options.
I ordered a iced mint mocha with sunflower milk, a vegan green machine juice, hummus pita sandwich, and vegan burrito to go! (Yes, I was hungry and so excited for vegan food!!)

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Nice atmosphere

Impressive vegan range

For an Omni restaurant there is an impressively varied and well labeled vegan range of options. The food is tasty, portions are sizeable and it’s a lovely modern place to sit.

Quite inclusive

The fact that Salvador's offers vegan options on many dishes is a massive bonus.

The food we tried was excellent, most notably the chunky cut chips (french fries).

The staff are delightful, the dining room is airy, the service is prompt.

Pros: Many vegan options

Nice

We went for a little snack and a coffee to this place. The atmosphere was very nice, also the stuff.
Some things in the menu are marked as vegan, but there are a few more, which are not. They have vegan milk, smoothies with almond milk, salads, vegan burrito and burger, as well as some sides like chips, nachos ...
We had a falafel plate for around 40 Yuan, which was very nice. Small salat, hummus, falafel, olives and flatbread. All was good and taste a bit like in a Arabic restaurant in Berlin.
I had a French press for to cups (18 Yuan) with plant milk (with hemp and something else), the milk wasn't that nice, but the coffee was very good.
All in all a nice place, but we can't recommend the vegan cappuccino (30 Yuan) which my girlfriend had. Just take a normal coffee ;)

Disgusting cappuccino 🤢

I ordered a cappuccino with the only plant milk they offer which was a mix of hempseed and something else I forgot. It was so disgusting I couldn't finish it. The milk had flocculated and they had used so much of it that the whole coffee wasn't liquid but rather thick. I couldn't stand the texture and taste.
So I payed 32 Yuan for a big disappointment. 2 Yuan extra for the use of this gross milk! I don't understand why they don't just use oat or soy. Also they use almond milk for some of their smoothies but apparently you can't have it with your coffee. I don't get it.

One star for the really nice interior and atmosphere at this place.

Very good place wish it was all vegan

Alot of vegan options and you can add great homade tempeh to every dish. I ate the vegan borrito with tempeh and it was delishiose and big. Also the bowls are great. They don't have plant based milk or deserts unfortunately. Go to wenhua Ally , go up the street to the left the entrance is behind a gate stairs to the second floor

Pros: Lots of vegan tasty and healthy options

Cons: Not completely vegan, no plant based milk or deser

Nice Vibe

The environment is really nice and relaxed. It’s a nice place to go to when you need a break from Chinese food and the ability to easily change the food order (if you don’t speak much Chinese). Read the reviews carefully, because it is not a vegetarian restaurant, but they have some vegetarian options and will allow you to remove things that aren’t vegan. Overall, a nice experience with decent prices. The food was great and came out quickly. I will definitely be back!

Pros: English Spoken , Happy Hour Specials (4-pm-8pm), Breakfast options

Cons: Can remove cheese, but no vegan cheese options. , Can replace meat w/ tempeh, but a lot meat dishes, Entrance is not on the street, in the back alley

Nice place to hangout with several vegan options

I really liked the place and loved to hangout there.
The menu has several vegan options (salads, burger, burrito, ...) and says that you should let the waiters know if you're vegan so they could probably veganise even others.
I didn't have any food though. Only a smoothie and a vanilla latte with almond milk but will try to come back to also try the food.

Pros: almond milk for coffeesseveral vegan options

Cons: still a "meat place"

Good and healthy choices

After long time Chinese foods I wanted to eat something healthy and less oil! This is good choice for healthy food include quinoa and avocados. I ordered “Gado Gado” but asked for avocado instead of ‘boiled egg’. It was very tasty!!

Pros: Vegan options , Healthy

Amazing place

How come does this place does not have more reviews? I had a good time there. The staff is super friendly. I had the quinoa rolls maki and the brussel sprouts salad with homemade tempeh. Super healthy, tasty and fresh. I also had a cafe latte with almond milk. I highly recommend! It was so appreciated to eat there after weeks of oily Chinese food!

It is located just in front of the Salvador’s cafe.

Healthy food!

After having had only Chinese food for a couple of weeks, this was a nice change. Fresh ingredients and home made tempeh - I can't complain.

Pros: Fresh food, healthy, many vegan options

Cons: Cold inside the restaurant :)

Delicious Western Food

As an expat in China, it is rare to come across decent quality western cuisine at a decent price, let alone good vegetarian western food. Salvador's is famous among expats and Kunming locals. It has many vegetarian options to choose from, including burgers, pizzas, and burritos. Unfortunately, there are very few vegan options. It can get rather smokey in the restaurant at times too.
Overall an excellent place for vegetarians and carnivores alike, but not great for vegans.

Pros: English menu, delicious food, delicious food

Cons: Few vegan options, can get smokey inside

Not for vegans

60% Meat. 20% cheese. 20% cream.
There was only one main dish on the menu that was vegan as far as we could tell. The Homemade Chilli.
On the up side, one or two of the staff speak a little English and there are good vegetarian options.
The place is warm and inviting with nice dimly lit tables.
A little on the pricey side though.

Pros: Warm and inviting, Homemade vegan chilli, Homemade vegan chilli

Cons: Only one vegan option, Pricey

Salvador's Kunming

I visited here last night but left without ordering food. Around half the menu is meat dishes. The rest is very heavily geared to lacto and egg dishes. There's no indication of any vegan awareness on the menu. Whether the lacto cheese they used if made without slaughtered animal rennet I remain to be convinced. Also how rigourous they are in the kitchen to protect the vegetarian purity of each dish, I have low level of confidence.

Cons: Lots of meat dishes, Minimal confidence inspired of vegan awareness, Cheese made with slaughtered animal rennet possibl

good times

This is a cosy place with a relaxed international vibe to it. Great vegetarian menu options along with various coffees and Chinese teas - not forgetting the beers ! An any time of day hangout which is a welcome contrast to the outside :)

Pros: bookcase full of English titles, power outlets, fr, cable Internet, cable Internet

Cons: no wifi
