Wonderful Vegan food!

This place is the best vegan options in Salt Lake City! Every time I come into town they are awesome! They step up extra staff and assistance when a convention is in town. The deviled avocados are amazing!!!

Pros: Creative vegan options, Vegan desserts, Creative Vegan cocktails

Cons: No to go order when convention in town

Can’t wait to go back

Really enjoyed eating here. Attentive service, great cocktails, and yummy food. Pasta carbonara that actually had a really fantastic sauce! We also tried the stuff mushrooms 🤤 which were amazing, the Brussel sprouts in Marsala sauce which were beyond what we expected, and the super foods salad where the beets were the stars. Cool atmosphere!

Pros: Downtown near everything , Cool atmosphere , Delicious food

Cons: Paid parking at $10/2 hrs if no street spots open

Vegan pasta carbonara! + a great cocktail

I often look for something on a vegan menu that I haven't seen elsewhere -- and here, pasta carbonara fit that bill. It was delicious; my only complaint is that it didn't come with a small side salad to make it a more balanced entree. (The other entree I found especially tempting was a stuffed chile -- I'll have to visit Utah again to try that out) The waitstaff was great with suggestions and information that helped steer me to a great cocktail (a chile-mango margarita with just the right amount of snap) and dinner.

Breakfast Tacos

Visited three times during a 4 day stay in Salt Lake. Did not disappoint at any time. My favourite was the JUST egg breakfast taco's and soup. I enjoyed two different soups on different days and both were phenomenal.

Pros: Oil-free options available

Nice location

Loved it. Hip restaurant and bar. Food was good. All food is gluten and soy free. I don't need this, but important it's all vegan and reasonable prices.
Loved the spinach cheese dip and the super food salad.

Birthday flop.

Went here for my birthday, and all of my non vegan friends came along. I had heard a lot about the place from other vegans and hoped that maybe it could even make an impression on them. It did: a bad impression.
Waiter seemed either half asleep, rarely made an appearance. The ramen my friends ordered came in noodle shreds, which they found repulsive. My wife’s food came cold, and drinks were alright, though kombucha was very good. To top it all off made it feel all the more overpriced for how poor everything was. When the waiter asked how we we doing and we answered honestly, he seemed angry and clearly wanted nothing to do with us after that. Never came back to give a check, so we had to go up front to pay just to finally leave. I felt embarrassed on behalf of the restaurant since it ended up fortifying some negative opinions that non-vegan friends have on vegan food (and now service).
I can only hope I’m just that odd one out that had a horrible experience here, and since it is a plant based restaurant, I only feel obligated to try them again, but for now, I have no desire to ever come back.

Pros: Lovely set up, loved the interior., Kombucha was nice.

Cons: Overpriced for cold, soggy food. , Worst service I’ve ever had.

Green and healthy oasis with delicious food and super-friendly service

I had a delicious super-food salat and chips with fresh guacamole (with citrus juice - awesome). The waiter was super friendly and we had a nice conversation while I was waiting for my food. Can definitely recommend this place!

Pros: Delicious food, Good choice of food, Super-friendly waiter

Good food when you're not too hungry

We're not generally huge jackfruit fans, but the tacos were good. We love mushrooms, but the stuffed mushrooms weren't as good as we expected (the filling was just okay). The smoothie and carrot cake were both really good. The place is nice, the staff is friendly, and we enjoyed our late light dinner.

Just Okay

I've been here a few times and my favorite visits are for breakfast/brunch. Anything I've ordered for lunch/dinner seems to be lacking in flavor. The cocktails are always good. The servers are wonderful and they always seem to be playing good music. I just wouldn't dine here for afternoon or evening meals.

Pros: Delicious brunch & cocktails , Friendly servers, Good music & atmosphere

Cons: Somewhat bland on lunch & dinner options.

Fantastic.

Just fantastic! Everything about this place is great; the food, the drinks, the service, the ambiance. Love it! Everything is vegan and gluten free. Their menu designates what is oil or nut free. It’s also a great location. This is slightly upscale and would be good for a special occasion.

Pros: All vegan, Glorious cocktails , Good food

Cons: Expensive

My Happy Place

Zest is definitely my favorite place to eat in SLC and has been for a couple of years now. Not only are they vegan, but they are also gluten free, soy free, canola free, and mostly corn free (they have chips and tortillas for some meals). Being on a very restrictive diet for healing my thyroid has been difficult and discouraging, at times. I love eating here, because I always know I can order anything off the menu. I recommend everything on the menu, but the pizza. And I don't like any vegan gluten free pizza, so even that might be great for someone else. My partner and I love that there are daily specials, to add some variety. He is an omnivore, and he loves the food here, as well. You seriously can't go wrong with the food. If you love tea as much as we do, you have got to try the coconut almond lavender. Whomever created this one, is a wizard. I wish there was a way to bring our kids who are under 21 to eat with us. That is the only downside to Zest, you have to be 21 to eat at the restaurant. Thanks, Zest, for creating a safe space for eating healthy food here in Utah! We love you!

Good menu, not family-friendly :(

We were excited to go for a nice dinner as we passed through town, but they do not serve anyone under 21 years old. We ended up ordering for take out and eating at our hotel. Our favourites were the pizza and brussel sprouts... yum!

Pros: Lots of vegan and gluten-free options.

Cons: Must be 21 years old to eat in.

Overall Pretty Good

The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was nice. I had the baked zuc & cheese, it was good, but I think comparing it to mac and cheese is not accurate. With the cashew cream it's more like a lasagna comparison. Still tasty, just not what I had expected, especially with the red sauce. The berry lavender lemonade was flavored water, definitely not lemonade, but had it been more of a lemonade the flavor would have been delicious! Again, just not what I expected. Overall, I think it was a decent choice. I would like to return and try something else on the menu. Their mashed potatoes were delicious!

The annoying aspect is that the baked zuc & cheese is called exactly that...but you have to pay an extra $2.00 for the cheese!? What the heck. Don't call it mac and cheese-- call it lasgana or something else more suitable please, and don't put cheese in the name if you have to pay for it.

Pros: Entire menu is vegan and gluten free.

Mediocre at best

The food is barely mediocre. Might be used to very high vegan food standards in Mebourne, but neither the mushrooms, nor the mac’n’cheese, nor the miso bowl had much taste... I don’t mind paying a buck more for good vegan food. But this wasn’t worth it...

Pros: Atmosphere, Service

Cons: Food

Good but overpriced

The food is good, and I appreciate that they put a lot of work into making it vegan, gluten free, mostly organic, soy free, and have options for oil free and nut free. However, the food struck me as a little bland and kind of overpriced for the serving size.
