Want to love it - Edit
My times here have been inconsistent, and I give it more chances due to the fact i support all vegan business. I think some things on their menu rock and others don’t suit my tastebuds. Service has been similar to my food experience. 50/50 but still support!

Oh my--delicious! - Edit
We loved the Buffalo pizza with jackfruit, the nachos and the hazlenut torte. We're taking home the protein salad and carrot cake for dinner. Yummy. So many enticing choices. Wish we lived here!

Yum! - Edit
I'm always ecstatic when I can find a vegan and gf restaurant! Zest has such a wide-range menu. It took so long for me to decide what to get. Everything was delicious! The desserts are amazing! Beware! They're huge! I struggled to finish mine but I managed because it was too good to waste! The staff was very friendly, too!

Really delicious - Edit
This was the closest vegan place to where I was staying in SLC so I went for dinner. Ordered a half protein salad with the sausage added in and the mushrooms and this was a huge amount of food! Really delicious and well made - mushrooms in particular were amazing!

Great food and great service - Edit
Glad this place now allows kids. I refused to go when it was 21 and over but now they are classified a restaurant, no longer a bar. Food was excellent. Maybe best carrot cake ever 😋 Portions for meals were on small side but were filling.

Great food with friendly service - Edit
Food was great and service was good. Definitely recommend the stuffed mushrooms, I would have been happy with ordering a few of those! Not suggested for those looking for a quick bite, patience is required.

Breakfast sandwich and carrot cake are what to order - Edit
I’ve had the breakfast sandwich, cheezy pasta, burrito bowl, and carrot cake. The sandwich and cake are fantastic. The pasta was plain, and the burrito bowl had undercooked potatoes. The vibe is nice, and the staff is friendly. I hope to come back someday.

A Vegan re-visiting Salt Lake City - Edit
While traveling to Salt Lake City, my co-worker and I were looking for a suitable place for me to eat. She is not a vegan, but is health conscious. The dinner was excellent and the food was plentiful and filling. She absolutely loved the meal, and so did I. I would definitely recommend this place.

Almost missed it - Edit
We almost missed this place as it was tucked behind P.J.Chang. I ordered the stuffed jalepenos for starter and jackfruit tacos for main. The food tasted good but the service felt a little hollow. Certainly a good option but doesn’t make me want to run back. We also had issues looking at the menu online (I think because we didn’t have American sims) and unfortunately there was no paper back up to view.

Creative menu, a tad bit limited and incongruous, but it works. Full bar at a vegan restaurant is unusual, but welcome.

Stunning upmarket vegan restaurant - Edit
First, loved the service friendly, happy and helpful. The place had an up market yet chill vibe. Food was very good. My wife had the nachos and I had the powerbowl with their bean patty added. Both were delicious! I’m not normally a nachos person but kept stealing from my wife!

Enjoyed my meal, but nothing crazy. - Edit
It’s nice when the entire menu is vegan and you cans enjoy from a large variety. I would suggest getting your meal to go. The customer service isn’t great and it’s extremely dark and I inviting inside. The food doesn’t match the scene at all in my opinion. The mushrooms were great and can’t go wrong with a side salad… but the Cuban breakfast is saturated with grease. All 3 items were good, but don’t think I’d return.

Not super impressed but worth trying - Edit
Zest was very hit or miss for me. I went twice and the first time got the pizza and was blown away by it. Second time I tried the Bolognese and nachos and was underwhelmed.
Read moreThe food is pricey compared to other vegan options in the area. It's clear they focus on healthier ingredients as opposed to what tastes good, so if you're looking for a whole food restaurant this is for you. I don't have as refined a palette and was a little let down by the underwhelming flavor of the Bolognese and nachos.
Overall I think it's worth trying especially because it's an all vegan restaurant. It just wasn't my favorite.

Pricey and ok but kinda worth it I guess - Edit
Stopped for dinner while in SLC on unpleasant business with my mother (a very picky highly critical chef). The vibe was nice and the service was pretty good.
Read moreFor bevvies I got an extremely over priced and under poured glass of Malbec and my mother got a Chardonnay (also over priced and under poured) but under the circumstances we didn’t mind so much.
We got the jalapeño poppers as an appetizer which was the highlight of our meal for both of us I think. We both loved the pomegranate sauce drizzled on the jalapeños but both agreed that the sweetness of the pomegranate, creaminess of the cashew cheese, and the sour cream drizzle tamer the jalapeños so much that leaving at least a few of the seeds in to bring some heat would really elevate the dish.
For entrees I got the Korean burger which I did not care for (the lentil burger patty had an awful texture and just plain had no flavor and the most intriguing part of the burger - the sauce - was given as stingily as possible). My mother got a Thai curry and loved it after having eaten hospital cafeteria food for 3 weeks but I found the flavors boring and the forbidden rice it was served with LOOKED cool and that’s about all.
We shared a beet and turnip salad with a citrus vinaigrette. I love beets (even canned ones) so it was pretty difficult to mess this up for me. The cool and creamy cashew cheese was a nice contrast to the warm beets and turnips. Loved this dish!
For dessert we got the salted caramel chocolate tort and the tiramisu cheesecake. I’m not a sweets person so I only had a bite or two of each over the next two days but the chocolate tort was really good and was definitely favored over the cheesecake.
Knowing we had a long night ahead of us and an even longer day of travel the next day we ordered the BBQ Pizza and Breakfast pizzas to go. Even cold the next day these pizzas were far better than the entrees we got and I won’t be wasting my time again with any other entrees on the menu if I find myself in SLC again and choose to eat here.
Pros: Lotsa vegan food , Casual atmosphere , full bar
Cons: Expensive , Limited, small, and kinda boring menu

We had the Power Salad and Cuban Breakfast. Both were tasty. The restaurant was a bit dark, to much of the bar room setting. Helpful staff.
