Would live here if I could - Edit
Been twice now (after nagging my partner for *months* before we even moved here) and it's lush. First time we went we bought enough food for about 4 people (there was two of us and we cradled the buffalo mac fries home like a precious newborn) Went for brunch today and the Teeside toast is phenomenal I really think you could make a religion out of it unless you're diabetic. And you can get vegan hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows. And some gorgeous cocktails. Service is great, food is great, decor is right up my alley, I love it.

Fantastic spot - Edit
V edge has everything you need, hearty vegan junk food, friendly staff and a funky vegan aesthetic. I especially loved the bathroom covered with vegan sayings/graffiti on it. Food game in big servings. My favourite was the seitan bites but also really like the burger and the Mac was good too.

Actual fave place - Edit
Everything is absolutely bangin, staff, vibe, food, events, decor, drinks, even the loo is 💯🔥🔥 and how many places do you go and just admire the toilet?
Read moreIf you have a fave on the menu, scrap it and try the rest bc everything they make slaps.
I bring my mother. I bring my sister. I bring my boyfriend. I bring my other sister. I bring my step dad. I bring my friends. If my grandma didn't get travel sick, I'd bring her.
If you have non vegan folk coming, I usually recommend the cheeseburger loaded fries because it's absolutely mental and easy for non vegans to wrap their head around (bc the smash burgers arrive pink and one of my mates had a minor panic but scanned it anyways dw). Also feed them a dessert, skillet, can't go wrong with a cookie (the dessert not the dog).
Brunch is also unreal.
Basically, cum see what the fuss is about. You won't regret it.
All my love to this place, for real, it's just so lush.

One to try - Edit
A quirky bistro with a lively ‘street’ atmosphere.
Read moreAlthough there was only the one lady taking orders and serving, service was adequate.
So far I have only tried the spice head parmo, and the garlic bread. Portion size was almost too big for me, the food was quite rich so after around half i started to become full.
A little expensive, however I understand as the kind of venue is a niché. Overall I am glad that I have tried V-Edge but i don’t think it is the place for me.

Really wanted to like this place 😭 - Edit
I'd like to preface this and say that I think it's amazing that mbro has a vegan restaurant and I love the vibe in here. If you're alternative / like rock music and veggie food, you'll like this place 🎸🍔
Read moreI feel as though I'm in the minority of people who probably won't return unfortunately, which makes me so sad because I wanted to love this place 😭
I've been twice, the first time I went I had the "Chicken" bites and the Mac N Cheez. The chicken bites were lovely, Nd had a great texture but the mac wasnt nice at all & I left the whole portion.
I started to feel ill halfway through my meal and had to go home.
I returned to vedge a second time, under the assumption that maybe I just had a stomach bug the last time but the same problem happened again when I ordered the Gucci gang burger (which is the same meat substitute as the chicken pieces), and I got sick again...💔
Pros: cool vibe 🎸, everything is vegan , supports local businesses
Cons: I got sick 😭, Mac N Cheez was inedible, mocktails same price as cocktails?

The best junk food I have ever tasted - Edit
On a recent coastal walking holiday, searching for vegan food, we booked this in advance. I can't express how much I loved everything about this quirky little place. The food was unbelievable. The cheeze was like nothing I have ever tasted (secret blend). My friend and I had burgers, mine with frickles, hers with chickn strips. The fries were incredible, the coleslaw was incredible, the frickles were incredible. The service was excellent. Even though I try to be environmentally friendly and not drive too much and V-edge is 120 miles from where I live, I'm going back for my birthday. It's a must visit, even if you're not in the area. Just be warned, it'll ruin all other vegan food for you!!!

Great service, great menu. I really enjoyed their taste in music and the decor.
Read moreFood was fabulous, I had the buffalo burger, and we shared some parmo loaded fries. You definitely only need one of the mains (all the burgers come with fries) as we were stuffed!
I think the price is very fair considering the quality and the portion sizes. All the flavours seemed very well considered, I'm sure we'll be back.

Their portion sizes are huge! So you can easily share a main.
If you are new to vegan junk food, I recommend try the starters and loaded fries. So you are not overwhelmed by having to finish their portion size 😜
Definitely recommend their cheesecake 🍰 do save some room for that 👍

My favourite vegan food in Middlesbrough. In the evening there are yummy cocktails and vegan junk food, including burgers, parmos and desserts. Weekend brunch includes pancakes, scrambled tofu and breakfast buns. Quirky decor and friendly staff make it an all-round fab place to eat.

A rare vegan restaurant in Boro - Edit
V-Edge is the only evening opening all vegan restaurant in Middlesbrough (and possibly Teesside). The menu has shrank a bit over the years but there are seitan chicken burgers and smashed vegan beef burgers with various toppings. There is also a vegan parmo.
Read moreThe place itself is a vital addition to Middlesbrough. There are numerous cocktails, beers, teas and coffees alongside the vegan burgers. They also do regular themed quizzes with special menus.
Brunch is available (pancakes, some breakfast sandwiches) on a weekend. The restaurant used to be open for lunch, but outside of brunch is largely just an evening place now. Still it's a rare vegan gem in Middlesbrough

Freaking delicious and so friendly! Amazing place for a good vegan burger 🍔! Great atmosphere. Came here with my non-vegan & meat-eating family and they loved it. I had the garlic chicken burger, rosemary fries 🍟 (the best bit of the meal), and a side of mac & cheese 🧀. Also loved the toilet! 🌱❤️

My first parmo - Edit
I wasn’t that hungry but ordered parmo because I’ve never had it. The portion was very generous and it was a struggle for me to finish, but the food was too good to waste. The waitress was absolutely lovely and atmosphere was good. If I’m ever back in Middlesbrough I’ll definitely come back.
