Okay food - very long wait - Edit
We stopped in Flagstaff overnight and did an online order on our way into town. Estimated pickup time was 25 minutes from when my order was placed, but it was 50 minutes before it was ready, which was odd because we saw nobody coming in and out with food. Note - parking is very limited at this location so plan accordingly. My husband had a calzone, which he enjoyed. I had all junk food. The chicken strips were really odd - consistency of chicken but almost no taste. I basically used them as a vehicle to get the yummy ranch dip to my mouth. I also had the fried artichoke hearts, which were the marinated kind from the jar and VERY greasy and limp. And, I tried the cheddar cheese fries - unfortunately, they added chili, which I didn’t care for, but the cheese was tasty. Probably would pass on this place next time!

Holy Happy Cow!!! - Edit
I’m not exaggerating when I say this- the creator is a Vegan Pizza GOD. We were blown away by the vegan cheddar cheese fries and the homemade vegan ranch. The pizza was equally as good. I was impressed by the amount of products made in-house as well as the passion expressed by the chef who showed a genuine interest in expanding his craft. There were so many options to choose from including wonderful appetizers and desserts. Prepare to be amazed.

Pizza was amazing, food took a long time, Covid concerns - Edit
We enjoyed the vegan Caesar salad (very good ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐), vegan mozzarella cheese sticks (also very good ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐), we had the vegan mafia pizza (white pizza with vegan chicken, spinach and onion ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) and kids had a vegan cheese with red sauce (⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 stars bc the kids said the sauce was spicy - it has a little kick) and vegan ranch (⭐⭐⭐ good, but thick). They have a bunch of vegan desserts but our tab was pretty high for all that!

Went to this restaurant because it was around the corner from my Airbnb. The owner was very friendly and is vegan himself. The vegan cheese they use is delicious, and almost everything on the menu can be veganized! They have vegan dessert options, and a good selection of beverages.

OMG OMG OMG do not miss! - Edit
LOVED this cute little pizza joint tucked away around the corner from a hippish downtown area. We were driving cross country so we skipped the extensive offerings of craft draft beer. But HALF the menu is vegan. We had a vegan Caesar salad and then a thin crust vegan pepperoni pizza. I split both with my carnivorous son and he loved it. We both could have eaten our own pizza but half was enough. The dough/crust was crispy and fresh. Homemade tasting. I want to go back!

One of the best vegan pizzas! - Edit
I came here while on vacation after the rest of my family ate at a BBQ joint. This place has delicious pizzas! I ordered a vegan veggie pizza, and it was one of the best (if not the best) vegan pizzas I’ve ever had! Their homemade vegan cheese was so good! I also liked the assortment of veggies that they put on the pizza, and the dough was perfectly cooked. (A large was big enough for two people.) I ordered the vegan mozzarella sticks, as well, which I highly recommend. The staff was also friendly!

Ordered the vegan sampler and two vegan pizzas. We decided to wait outside while everything was being made, and the chef came out with a bowl each of homemade vegan sorbet for us to try. The sorbet was amazing, as was everything else. Wish there was a place like this back home

Service was good and their vegan ranch is great. The pizza though not so much. Pretty bland and was hoping for a thinner crust not to mention maybe it could of been cooked more. Also, ridiculously expensive. Not worth the money. I would try anything else but the pizza.

TONS of Vegan Options! - Edit
We stopped by this little pizza joint because despite serving meat and dairy, we read they had a four page vegan menu. While their vegan menu is only 1 page, there are so many incredible options to choose from. We were equally impressed by the beer selection. The man running the place was very hospitable, even gifting us a free fudge for finishing our pizza (which was easy to do, it was so good!). We were a little underwhelmed with the portion of the sampler platter (you only receive two of each item), but otherwise we loved everything. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back the next time we are in Flagstaff.

We were blown away first by the incredible Vegan menu and then by the food. Very high quality and creative with a great drinks selection. Thank you so much for your review! We really wish you were able to give us five starts too! Even though we have by far the largest vegan pizza menu in the country because we cater to all dietary needs (not cow), HappyCow only allows a maximum of four stars. We make most of our own plant based vegan cheeses and meats from scratch, without the use of soy. Our mission is to provide the customer with fresh, unprocessed, easily digestible food.

Thank you for visiting The Pizza Patio over three times. Thank you for enjoying our large selection of vegan pizza and dog friendly patio. It means a lot to us to have loyal customers. Understaffed, greasy food - Edit
We loved the idea of this place as some of the reviews are so good but what a huge letdown. It’s definitely got a laid back, grimy feel to it but the menu looked so good. You order your full meal at the front desk before seating yourself. We ordered two pizzas on gf, v bases (cauliflower) and they were quite nice. We also ordered a sharing platter of grease filled, deep fried, battered mozzarella/chicken/mushroom. It didn’t sound that way on the menu and it honestly sucked. The cauliflower was frozen still and the grease was literally dripping from each piece of food. We didn’t eat it. I also ordered a dessert, which I would have skipped if was ordering after our grease fest. My chocolate peanut butter fudge was small and greasy. I mean, I know fudge is sugar but it was just too much. I actually expected a fudge cake not just a piece of fudge but that was my mistake. Service was slowwwww and they were severely understaffed.
Read moreI explained our grievance regarding the basket of deep fried cholesterol pieces and the waitress nonchalantly explained they’d been having that problem lately (frozen insides) 🤨 I was going to ask for a refund but the poor girl was run ragged and looked dazed and confused so we just got the hell out of there.
So, massively disappointed and will not return.

We are so sorry that you did not have a good experience at The Pizza Patio. Your experience is so contrary to what most people experience at our restaurant. Our plant-based, gluten-free appetizers are hand rolled in house and fried in healthy rice oil at triple the cost of other oils. There is no grease (oil) in our homemade, plant-based, gluten-free fudge. We have expanded our flavors of fudge to include pistachio, salted cashew, maple pecan, and many others because our customers find them simply amazing. Again, we are so sorry that you did not have a good experience with us and hope that you give us another chance.

Great idea, mediocre execution - Edit
This review is a tough one. The fact that a restaurant with SO many vegan options exists in Flagstaff is awesome. But, this place has real issues. First, the good news: the vegan menu is large and impressive. Many of the vegan cheeses and meats are made in-house. GF and soy free options. We got free vegan fudge with our meal.
Read moreNow for the bad news: while it’s commendable that they take the time to make their cheeses / meats from scratch, our pizzas just weren’t flavorful. We got the Buffalo Chicken and the Chicken Alfredo. The mozzarella in particular isn’t great. It has no stretch and really, no flavor. The chicken pieces were comically small. The thin-crust was super undercooked, almost doughy? We ended up adding some vegan ranch dressing (also homemade but actually was very tasty) to our pizzas just to give them some flavor. The table next us had their order mixed-up. After reading other reviews, this seems to be a reoccurring issue here.
And this may be a personal thing, but the owner came up to us shortly after we arrived to “answer any questions” we had. But instead, he just sort of rambled on and on about how great his pizzas are — not letting us get a word in edgewise. It went on for 15 minutes easily. We were hungry and just wanted to order food. There was a weird pressure put on us to order certain things on the menu. Interacting with him left a bad taste in my mouth.
The total for the two small pizzas was over $40, completely overpriced. We won’t be trying this place again.
Pros: Large vegan menu , House made ingredients
Cons: Expensive, Food lacked flavor, Aggressive owner
stevegrubart
Thank you for enjoying our large plant-based menu with homemade vegan meats and cheese that are gluten free and soy free. We do not go through a freezing process, add soy, or sodium dioxide in order to make our mozzarella stretch. It is filled with flavor, is nutritious, and is easily digestible, without the bloated feeling of soy cheeses like Daiya. Our triple thick homemade vegan dressing that you found very tasty is also made in house and given at no extra charge. We do our best to explain the various intricacies of our menu in our effort to provide fresh unprocessed food to cater to every dietary lifestyle. All of our plant-based vegan ingredients are made in house and given in generous portions. We are sorry you had an unpleasant experience and hope you come back and try one of the many other items on our incredibly large vegan menu or one of the items recommended by the owner.

Plant-Based Pizza!! - Edit
They have a Plant-Based/Vegan menu....extensive offerings! They make their own cheese (multiple types) and non-meat Italian Sausage, etc. The chef, Chris (so nice and friendly) took special interest in helping us select a pizza since there were so many choices. We had half “Forgotten Garden with Italian Sausage” and half “Vegan Curse of the Billy Goat.” Both good, but we liked the one with the Italian Sausage best. They make there own vegan desserts...we loved the cheesecake (coconut milk) with blueberry compote....not too sweet. The young lady who worked there was very personable and sweet. Before we left, we met the owner, Steve. He is surely a future thinker by having a place (menu) like this!!

Great food/Poor managment - Edit
This place had delicious food with the most amazing vegan options. It was so nice to not be forced to eat the one obligatory vegan option on most restaurant menus. However, though the food was amazing, the entire time we were in the restaurant the owner, who was very pleasant to us, was verbally berating the only other employee there. It was the most uncomfortable experience and we practically ran out of the restaurant after scarfing down our food. I only wish I could have told the poor girl that she was actually on the receiving end of verbal abuse and should never be forced to work in such an environment.

Huge vegan menu - Edit
I am so happy to see how this place has grown!! Half the menu was vegan so I struggled with trying to narrow down my order! They have vegan, GF vegan, and GF vegan cauliflower crust. I opted for the cauliflower crust and it held together better than any other I’ve ever had. Great flavor too. I’m not a huge fan of any vegan imitation cheeses but these sat pretty well for me.
