Good filling kebab - Edit
I tried the no meat kebab with spicy potatoes. It was good. I feel like it was more expensive than it should have been. But it was good enough and filling.

Middle Eastern Food - Edit
The Olive Tree offers a 4 course vegan menu! We got the stuffed grape leaves and veggie pakora as starters and the vegan Döner platter and the North African roasted veggie and bean stew. They have a choice of couscous, white or brown rice. Both were very good and the portions are large! They also have vegan desserts. We tried the vegan carrot cake and the chocolate and orange pudding. We ended our dinner with Turkish coffee. It was a lovely dinner.

This was exactly what I needed after a hungover day spent in the car coming up from Galway. Hearty and absolutely delicious. Had the vine leaves as starter and tomato stew main. Great drink options as well.

Fabulous vegan menu - Edit
Fabulous vegan menu. We keep ordering vegan meals and are left hungry- not here and top quality food and flavours too. We shared the stuffed vine leaves which were served hot in a rich tomato sauce. I had the kebab. It hadn’t occurred to me that the sliced potatoes would be chips and I’d decided to skip chips (fries) for a while. Gorgeous flavoursome kebab with crisp salad. Served with two dips. Yum. We shared a cheesecake. It was drizzled with caramel sauce and served with ice cream. I had a tea and it was beautifully presented and served with dates and Turkish delight. We had a debate when paying the bill and another staff member came over to say it was good value. He missed the point that we were being undercharged and we’re trying to make sure to pay the correct amount. Would return except we have so many places to try in so little time. We were also comfortable here and didn’t feel rushed. My husband really enjoyed all the flavours in his bean casserole with couscous and declared it his best meal for this holiday so far - high praise indeed! Highly recommended.

Good vegan options and understanding staff - Edit
There is a pretty good vegan section on their new menu. The staff are understanding about veganism, which isn't the case in a lot of restaurants in this area.
Read moreThey have plenty of vegan alternatives at the ready (eg: oat milk, or vegan treats to go along with a tea or coffee).
Pros: Staff who understand veganism.
Cons: I don't think the veg/salad is organic.

There is a separate vegan menu which had a varied selection of items on it, plus desserts! I had the kebab which was amazing - really tasty and a great size portion! The staff were all really friendly and the decor was authentic.

We've been here twice and can testify to the high standards.

The mixed bean tajine was delicious as was the pakora filled pitta. Try the chunky chips for a taste of very local produce.
