Best beer - Edit
A must stop when in Canmore for the beer! Not many vegan options, we just had the chips and salsa which was delicious and hit the spot with the beer, salsa is made in house.

No labeled vegan options - Edit
Nothing labeled as vegan, very few things that seem vegan. I got the olives.

No vegan options - Edit
Other than the korean cauliflower that is to die for (without the dipping sauce), this place no longer has enough vegan options to be recommended on Happy Cow in my opinion.

Limited Vegan Options - Edit
The schwarma bowl is no longer available. So I had the veggie burger (now Vegan) however the regular and gluten free buns are not vegan. So I had it on a bed of lettuce and Sprouts. Got all the sauces.. Tahiti lemon sauce, hot sauce, mustard and hot sauce.. and it was tasty enough!

Tasty Veggie Burger! - Edit
The Grizzly Paw is a popular local pub/restaurant and brewery located on the main street in Canmore. I visited for dinner during my recent stay in Canmore in September 2020.
Read moreAfter waiting about 10 minutes in line, I was able to get a seat at the bar. The restaurant was very busy during the dinner time hours and the tables and patio seating were full and had much longer wait times. Would suggest making a reservation.
I ordered the vegetarian black bean burger with gluten free bun and fries, along with a local Rock Creek cider. Everything tasted fantastic! The burger patty was pretty crumbly though and was quite messy as it was falling apart. I found the prices to be a bit high.
The service was friendly and efficient and I enjoyed my meal.

Tasty vegan shawarma plate - Edit
Barely any options for vegans. The black bean burger has eggs in it as well as their burger bun. The only option: the vegan shawarma plate is really good and fool of flavor.

Clearly-marked and delicious vegan options - Edit
Fast, friendly service and a menu with a surprisingly generous amount of vegan items. They put some thought and care into things for us.

Avoid if you have food allergies - Edit
We waited 45 minutes for our food to come, and when it did, it was very disappointing. I had informed the server of my diet limitations (I am allergic to animal proteins, part of the reason I became vegan). I had ordered the Beyond Meat burger but she came back and said they were out, so suggested I get the “vegan version” of the Poke Bowl - fish free. I ended up finding a piece of raw fish in my dish, and although I didn’t eat it I ended up having an allergic reaction (hives, raw throat, vomiting, etc) within hours. I imagine from eating the rice that the piece of fish touched. My husband ordered a regular burger (he’s omni) and ended up finding what looked like a black cat or dog hair on it. We informed the server and we ended up getting a discount on the Poke Bowl, and the burger for free. Unfortunately they were sort of rude about it, despite the fact that we were trying to be patient and understanding because the restaurant was very busy and our server was obviously taking care of many tables. I would never go back here again, which is so disappointing because they do have several vegan options. Sadly with my allergies it’s too risky for me to trust the service.😒
