No longer vegan

Used to be vegan, not anymore, when I mentioned that I was disappointed the woman who was working there was extremely rude. "We're not going to stop serving chicken because you think it's gross. Most people eat meat"
I will never give another dollar to this place.

Cons: Rudeness, Not longer vegan

Was all vegan until they changed it

I used to love this place, and I would come in regularly. However since they’ve introduced chicken into their kitchen I am no longer interested. For a place so worried about allergies I’m surprised they’re not worried about the cross contamination that comes with chicken. They sacrificed integrity for profit. I won’t be back.

Cons: Pricey , No longer 100% vegan

Amazing Treats & Lunch Menu

I’d give them 5 stars but Happy Cow doesn’t allow 5 unless there’s no meat on menu. While the menu doesn’t specify vegan-everything but the chicken lunch option is vegan. Like others said-the owner is kind & generous. Frosting on the donuts is delicious and they are generous with it if you ask. Such a nice, kind place to eat.

Pros: Variety on menu, Friendly owners, Quality ingredients

Cons: No vegan chicken alternative

Best vegan sweets in Colorado Springs

Seriously amazing. Come for the sweets and stay for the awesome Cafe food. Owner is incredibly generous, always ask for more icing!

No longer an entirely vegan cafe, disappointing. Primarily serves the gluten free community.

Was not a fan of the parsley/ lentil sandwich

The parsley pesto/lentil hummus sandwich was not something I liked. It was served open faced which was a surprise. The bread was more like flatbread and was pretty tough. The other elements of the sandwich were overall soggy and lacked seasoning... even salt! This is not something I would order again. The bakery was better. Ask for the cinnamon roll warmed up and order a donut without the frosting as they are served with way too much.

Pros: Everything is gluten free and vegan

Cons: Food lacking seasoning

some baked goods better than others

This place is very cute and the staff is friendly. The baked goods selection is pleasantly varied, but some are better than others. The cake balls (cake pops minus the stick) were my favorite. And I think you can’t go wrong with most of the dessert items.

However, the bread was unpleasantly dense. For example, the “focaccia” looks and tastes like a dense thin pizza crust, because this restaurant is gluten-free, and gluten is what makes a focaccia what it is (puffed up, soft, and airy).

The lunch food was similarly disappointing. The pesto sandwich was just a salad on top of the aforementioned focaccia, and the butternut squash soup was average.

Overall, I would come back here, but only for dessert, not bread or lunch.

Pros: dessert, especially cake balls, friendly staff

Cons: bread is tough and not tasty, lunch food is average

Plant-based Cafe and bakery

The entire menu is plant-based. This is a great option for a healthy plant-based breakfast or lunch. I had the lunch combo (veggie bowl and cup of soup). The portions are generous and flavors are good.

Pros: 100% plant-based menu, Generous portions

Cons: Cafe menu is not extensive

Awesome VGF spot

I had the waffle which I thought was totally delicious. They were out of whipped cream but honestly the strawberry compote and maple syrup were enough.

I tried the doughnuts which are the best VGF ones I've ever had I had two with no icing and a third with. I actually preferred no icing.

Their buns are again the best VGF ones I have ever had. I really really loved them.

Cinamon buns! Wow they were GREAT! Again I got no icing and totally loved them.

Raspberry turnover was decent.

Only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the focaccia Flatbread.

Nothing is heavy or dense and the textures of everything was so so so good.

Staff were very friendly and pleasant.

Try the bowl

We found this cafe by chance in Happy Cow. Ignore the mobile website which is hard to navigate and makes you believe this is just a bakery. This place serves amazing food. The Bowl was quite possibly the best vegan meal we had in the week we stayed in Colorado Springs. Try it!

I wish I could eat more!

My partner and I had brunch here, and have fallen in love. I wish we weren't leaving the area soon, because I could eat here every day. We had the mushroom biscuits and gravy, and the waffle with strawberry compote. The biscuits and gravy were delicious, very mushroomy. But the waffles were the star! Highly recommend!

Pros: All vegan, Very allergy conscious, Everything delicious!

Better for gluten free people

Super great service so I hate to leave this review. I ordered coffee and the biscuits and gravy and both were awful… I think it’s the gluten free flours they use. Any way I feel like this is a better place for gluten free people then vegans. I’ve never tasted flavors like that before but perhaps because I’m not used to gluten free foods.

Pros: All vegan

Made me happy and full

The food was delicious. But what I most appreciate about this delightful locally-owned restaurant is that everything is organic. Even the coffee. They believe in the importance of pesticide-free food.
Though not an issue for me, they are also gluten-free.
The cafe is clean and bright. They owners love what they are doing and are helpful and friendly.
I haven’t had waffles in years. I’m definitely returning to sweet elizabeth’s to have some.

Pros: Vegan AND healthy , Owners, Scott and Elizabeth, welcoming/friendly, Totally organic

Absolutely divine!

Sweet Elizabeth’s offers so many delicious, gluten free, vegan, allergy friendly options. As of this review, you can place your order through the week and then pick up your purchases on Fridays from 4-6 pm at the Land O’ Lakes Rec Center parking lot. It is WORTH it! Elizabeth is so nice and her baked goods are second to none!

A Special and Sweet Experience

While in Lutz for an overnight business meeting, we found this little gem using Happy Cow. What a perfectly wonderful breakfast delight. We tried the waffles, cinnamon buns, and donuts. Each of these was delicious and the coffee was brewed to perfection. The food, ambience, and friendliness of the owners made for a great visit. It was so good that we took some to go! We will most definitely visit again!

Pros: Lots of vegan and organic options, Quality of food, Friendliness of staff

Cons: None
