Lovely vegan cafe and store - Edit
We came here on a day trip from a cruise , we had the bbq chick’n plate and a mocha protein smoothie. The food was really tasty. Such a lovely place with a small store and takeaway food too. If you’re in Halifax, definitely make the effort and try it out.

Delicious food and super friendly staff! - Edit
The springwich may be the best sandwich in Halifax. Their dill pickle pasta is amazing. Everything is super healthy on the menu but of course they do have some junk food - the chips and chocolate are hard to resist!

Everything you need - Edit
Halifax’s vegan grocery store, offering all your specialty needs. Great selection of vegan chocolate bars, snacks, pantry items and more. They have pop-ups from other local businesses and also offer their own food from their kitchen. Smoothies, desserts, bowls and wraps.

Great plant based market! - Edit
I find something new every time I go to Springhouse. Everything is plant based and many items are gluten free. I’ve tried a couple of the frozen meals and the take out items and haven’t been disappointed! Some things are a bit pricey but it can be hard to find plant based food in Halifax.

Healthy and suitable vegan options in the HRM - Edit
I used to live in Halifax, NS and I enjoyed going to Springhouse from time to time. I ate a dinner here when I was a member with the Halifax Vegetarian Association. The dinner was in September 2019 and I absolutelty loved the vegan burrito--it was both flavourful and satisfying. The vegan cheesecake was also lovely. It was lighter and healthier, which are desserts I do enjoy from time to time.
Read moreI love that their options are both delicious and healthy. Some of my favourite foods/products from Springhouse include: the breakfast burrito, their acai breakfast parfait with cashew cream (not sure if they still have this product), and their cheesecake.
Pros: Healthy , Delicious , They offer Canada-wide shipping for online store
Cons: Smoothies are not my favourite

Can only comment on the grocery - Edit
This market is located right next to Real Fake Meat, which was my actual destination. I didn’t purchase take out so I can’t comment on the food, but I was really happy to find a store handling grocery “essentials” like vegan marshmallows . Lol

Beautiful space with great breakfast options - Edit
Springhouse has a beautiful space with lots of plants. It was a really comfortable setting. The food was good too, especially the baked goods. There were several options that travelled well for breakfast the next day.

Nice Fresh Place - Edit
I've been to Springhouse twice and I ordered the taco salad both times. It was a pretty nice salad both times and the second time I was offered some house-made hot sauce as well. I really enjoyed it. The veggies are fresh and crisp. The dressing is not too strong.
Read moreThe server is really sweet and genuine. The whole place has a really chill vibe. I like the decor and there is a really cool poster in the restroom about plant protein. Check it out😄
The next time I go I'll order something different. They have some nice things in their display case as well.
Pros: Nice friendly service, Reasonable prices, Fresh atmosphere
Cons: The music was not to my taste but not a big deal

Fresh, vegan drinks and meals - Edit
Attractively furnished café (fresh flowers on the tables). I had the very good Breakfast Scramble bowl: scrambled tofu, mashed potatoes and coconut bacon topping and greens, with creamy dressing. I didn’t manage to get back here before the end of my Halifax stay, but I definitely want to return to try more of the menu (wraps, salads, sides, drinks) on my next trip.

Healthy Fast Food - Edit
Fast, healthy and delicious food. The protein salad is a must and I get it almost every time I’m there, but everything I’ve tried is amazing. Almost the whole menu is gluten free and they have many soy free options as well. Service is fast and friendly.

Burger bowl and cashew ice cream - Edit
I had a delicious burger bowl. I recommend it, although it wasn’t very filling. The cashew ice cream isn’t really ice cream it’s more like very creamy cashew cream that has been chilled. The “ice cream” is a plain cashew base and they use the toppings to make the flavours different. I recommend the pecan flavour because they use maple syrup and without that sweetness it’s a little bitter.

Delicious, fresh, vegan! - Edit
Cute little cafe-esque location. Delicious prepared food and lots of to-go goodies including a mind-blowing almond chocolate bar. Great juices, friendly and helpful staff. Located in the Halifax Seaport Market, but has plenty of seating to eat in with lots of natural light. Check out the rest of the market especially if you're there on the weekend when there are lots of vendors.

Decent but not overly impressive - Edit
I bought a protein bowl and carrot cake. I was pretty hungry and so apparently the bowl was the most filling dish. It was tasty but still a bit small (smaller than, say, Freshii). I will note that the "feta" tofu is delicious. Overall great bowl. The carrot cake (and most the desserts) were disappointing. I wanted something sweet and full of carbs, but the desserts all seemed to be raw and flourless. The carrot cake was recommended so I bought it, but found it to be way overpriced (~$7) as it was cold and not at all soft and fluffy. Even the icing, which looks like buttercream, was hard and cold and not creamy. I couldn't even finish eating the cake. I hope this was just a one-off bad batch of cake as I really want to support a fully vegan restaurant. All told the meal was $18.

Cons: Pricey, Everything seems to be gluten free and raw
