Donuts are huge!!

Usually have about 3 vegan options a day. The donuts are huge and the staff is really nice. Pretty good, wish there were a few more flavours

Delicious vegan options - but come early in the day, they sell out fast

Five Stars

These are the best vegan doughnuts I've tried, better even then my fave home spot in Winnipeg or the places I tried in Montreal and London UK. Delicious, especially the Boston cream which tastes even better than the ones I had before I was vegan.

Great selection of vegan donuts. The selection changes everyday!

Pros: Rotating selection of vegan flavours, Cheaper than other vegan donuts I have bought!

DELICIOUS DOUGHTNUTS

Had a wonderful time at Fortune! I got the Boston Cream vegan donut, but was delighted to see they had several other vegan options in the store! the locals raves about this spot as being the preferred donut place, and I was so impressed! loved fortune!

Good donuts

I was expecting the donuts to cost more money. I'm used to small/independent donuts shops having insane prices, but the cost at Fortune was reasonable. (More expensive than donuts at Tim Hortons, but you get what you pay for.)
When I went (around 1pm) there were four vegan flavours available (there were seven that were for sale that day, but they sold out earlier). I got the Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie donut. Not sure what about it made it "pie"... but it was still good.
The place has a cool atmosphere and there are several other vegan and plant-based businesses nearby to check out too.

Best vegan donuts!

Fortune is in the Velo on Gottingen and so is neighbours to some great vegan eateries (like Real Fake Meats and Springhouse, as well as G-Street Pizza which has some vegan options), so if I’m grabbing lunch at one of those spots, I can’t resist stopping by Fortune for dessert! They usually have at least a couple of vegan flavours, but they change daily (they post the flavours on their Instagram everyday). Their vegan Boston Cream is probably my favourite, but I loved their Fuzzy Peach donut too! Great variety of innovative flavours.

Delicious!

Wish they had more vegan options but the pecan maple one that I tried was really yummy! Such a cool building!

Yummy doughnuts

I’ve been a few times. It’s nice that they have a few vegan doughnuts daily. You do need to go early, as the vegan ones sell out fast.

Pros: Vegan options

Cons: Sell out quickly

Ever changing vegan options

Fortune offers 1-2 vegan doughnuts each day. The dough isn’t as greasy or sweet as traditional American style doughnuts, but I actually prefer them that way. The doughnuts are large in size, but priced more than regular menu. I’ve noticed on some days they don’t have vegan doughnuts available so check their social media ahead. I also wish they would have 3 flavours available a day, but I do really appreciate that they change their flavours around.

Pros: Vegan options , Creative flavours

Cons: Expensive

Artsy

I knew this place would be adorable because it's owned by the same people who own Freak Lunchbox and if you've ever been to that store, it's super cool even if you don't wanna buy candy or anything at all. I enjoy just going in to look at all the cool art and fun ceilings.

Fortune Doughnut's joins the gourmet doughnut craze, alongside Vandal's which is a couple minute walk down the same street.

I was very happy to learn they had vegan doughnuts (I messaged them months ago to ask and they confirmed) so I was anticipating the opening.

Everything about the shop is awesome. The multicoloured light-up sign outside is an immediate attention grabber. When you enter there's so much to look at that I think you'd have to visit multiple times to see everything. I love all the colourful cute artwork on the walls (so many cats!), the giant doughnuts on the ceiling, the giant 3 eyed cat sculpture behind the cash and so much more.

There was a lineup as I expected (seriously the doughnut craze is real in Halifax) but it moved quickly. They had 2 vegan selections today, vegan banana chick and vegan coconut. I ordered the banana chick because a) It was adorable and Easter themed, b) I love banana.

Although the doughnut was super cute, I didn't find it had a lot of taste besides a oil/greasy taste (not banana) and I found the consistency/texture weird. So I was slightly disappointed but I'd definitely give it another try eventually.

If nothing else, this place is worth a visit just to see how cool it is inside. They also offer coffee and tea to go with your doughnuts.

Pros: Vegan options, Amazing decor
