Meat sausage place with vegan hot dogs, but no vegan buns - Edit
Schaller’s is a well-known meat/sausage/brat market. They recently opened a small annex on the side of the store, a type of brat/sausage/hot dog stand where you can buy one of their sausages cooked and served on a bun, either to take out or to eat while sitting on one of a handful of stools in their tiny indoor space.
Read moreKnowing that this is a meat place, I was surprised to see Schaller’s listed on Happy Cow—evidently, they now serve as one of their items a vegan hot dog, made from Beyond Meat. The first time I stopped by Schaller's were all out of the vegan hot dogs—and (except for the sides) there is otherwise nothing remotely vegetarian to eat at this place. The next time I went I was in luck—they had (one of the three types of) Beyond Sausage in stock. The staff was very friendly, and they assured me that the vegan hot dog was cooked entirely separately from the other food. My order was ready within five minutes (they boiled the vegan hot dog is separate water), I wolfed it down and went on my way. Their vegan hot dog is rather tasteless, and the little taste it has is overwhelmed by the toppings. In all, it was pretty much what I expected, and since I did not expect much, I can’t say that I was unhappy (though I would have rather the vegan sausages not been out stock the first time I showed up).
UPDATE: I stopped by today (March 2022), and asked if their buns are vegan, and were told that they are not. I lowered my rating accordingly.

Great vegan options - Edit
No seating, but friendly employees. $3 side pretzel was soft and good, with absolutely delicious mustard, but a little small. The beyond classic was incredible. I would definitely recommend this place.

Love their vegan options! Always well done and yummy. I do wish they weren’t so much more than their non-vegan options though, but oh well.

They have Beyond Sausages with Crazy Combos! - Edit
This place is great. It’s a little outside booth right next to Schaller and Weber which is a butcher shop that has a whole bunch of history. The kiosk (or “sausage bar”) sells a variety of loaded hotdogs which are locally sourced from right next door, but they have a vegan menu with Beyond Sausages! I forgot to take a picture of the vegan menu but you can find it online and I included a picture on here also. The staff was friendly and very accommodating when I asked about the place and if they had any vegan sides— which they do! The German potato salad is vegan (it’s vinegar based) and so is the cucumber salad. I think the soft pretzel may be vegan as well since most soft pretzels are but I didn’t ask so check to make sure. Great experience overall and the food was delicious!
