Decent vegan ice-cream - Edit
They have numerous vegan flavours of which I opted for one of their chocolate ones. The ice cream was decent but tasted overly of coconut. During my visit they would not accept cash (which I was only told after I had ordered) forcing me to create a gift card with their gift card machine. The machine crashed with my money inside and I was never given a refund despite numerous attempts to phone and email the shop as they refused to claim responsibility for the machine, I was advised to phone and email by the only employee in the shop.

Not the best VL location, but good - Edit
I love van Leeuwen’s ice creams but found the flavor I got at this location a little icy compared to what I’ve had elsewhere. It’s possible they don’t sell their vegan flavors as fast as their dairy flavors which could explain why it was icy, but I’m not sure. They give tastes if you ask so maybe try the flavor you want to make sure it’s as good as you want it to be.

A decent vegan cone - Edit
I have to give props to Van Leeuwen for not only having ample vegan options, but having a separate, dedicated vegan menu with nearly as many flavors as the non-vegan menu. Their prices are average but their portions are generous. The taste of the ice cream itself was not my personal favorite - a little "shallow" and fakey for me - but not terrible. I honestly enjoyed my waffle cone more than the ice cream it held. Altogether, not a bad pitstop if you NEED ice cream after hanging out at Central Park, but nothing to write home about.

Van Leeuwen is a chain with stores all around Manhattan. This branch, like all the ones I have seen, is clean and attractive, with some small functional places to sit (though not really suited to hanging out for a long time). The ice cream tastes very good, with more vegan flavors than in most other places.

Excellent vegan ice cream options, what more can I say? Don't waste your time reading these reviews and get some of that delicious vegan ice cream, pronto!!! Try the vegan chocolate chip cookie dough (which was delicious) or an ice cream sundae topped with vegan chocolate and whipped cream...I'd eat copious amounts of this delicious ice cream if I didn't care about (or need to be mindful of) calorie intake, for real!!! :D

New, fresh, cozy - Edit
This location happened to be the first Van Leeuwen location where I went. It was very easy to find - we met many happy customers on our way to the store. This location is new, painted with fresh colors, outside you can sit on the cozy little bench. The place is small, clean, with couple tables to sit at, it is cash-free, which surprised me since I am a bit old school and I don't always carry a debit card with me. But I understand the convenience, it felt that the service was pretty fast. I tried Vanilla almond chip with vegan whipped cream. Delicious. Perfect place for vegan ice cream lovers. And what I love the most are probably the spoons made from corn - so fully compostable! Yaay!
