worst place to visit - Edit
I wish there are zero stars. Worst management and staff. We had to wait for 3 hours to be served and then they said it is their closing time and cannot serve the items that we ask for. I would never visit this place again

Delicious dosas that are worth the long wait - Edit
Really love the sodas at Podi, everything is delicious. The service is not great and it takes a very long time to get your food but with that said I will continue to go back.

Savory, flavorful, delightful - Edit
I'd give this place 5 stars but HappyCow doesn't allow 5 to places that not completely veg. This place is predominantly veg though, so go eat there happily.
Read moreThe main signage is Pickles but as it used to be Dosa Lite, they've expanded/renovated and will answer to both. It's the same place despite the slightly confusing signage out front and the two to three menus you get at non-buffet time.
As for the BUFFET, it's awesome! The entire front table consists of vegetarian and vegan options. I love that it was the side table that had the meat dishes. The traditional paneers are there, but there were more than enough vegan dishes that those can be skipped. This place has my favorite pakora - fresh and very crispy, not at all oily nor doughy. And as I do love my starches, I ate every one they had to offer, complete with the available sauces and soup that went along with them.
More than just naan, there were the puffs, the patties, the biryanis, upma, idli, and I wasn't even there on a dosa night. Apologies for lack of memory on dish names, but across the board, everything is delicious. Rich deep flavors, plenty of heat, and the variation of dishes is more than the usual standard buffet. Full leaves are thrown into the spice mixes, everything tastes slow cooked; it's pretty impressive you have this at a buffet. Pickles became one of my favorites immediately, and we've become regulars despite it being a skip away from the Little India area (and has better parking!)
This place seems to have it all, just different specifics on different days. Every time we go there is something new too. Check the website for varying days of themes. The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the Indo-chinese dishes, but one of the items I've tried now is the Szechuan Dosa Masala, curious to see this fusion idea, and there can be a deliciousness to the combination. Both Szechuan and Indian cuisines are known to be hot, levels above "spicy" so put them together and you get a lovely lava. For those who love to eat fire, this place has it.
Dosa Buffet night BTW, was ALL vegetarian. You have to order off the menu if you want the meat dishes :) The staff already recognize me....
Pros: Flavorful, delicious, Variety, Great quality food for great price
