My only comment is that it took a while for the food to be made, but they were quite intricate meals, and very fresh, so that is understandable.

Came for the KBBQ - Edit
Came for the first vegan Korean BBQ offering I’ve seen - and as someone from an Asian background whose family LOVE going to regular KBBQ, I was ecstatic.
Read moreLook, the novelty was kinda there, but I do feel like they could’ve incorporated more Korean flavours (eg using gochujang) and fun side dishes (banchan). The ‘meat’ they used was also thick giant pieces of savoury ‘duck’?? So didn’t really work for the Korean flavour.
Fun tho!

Not too bad - Edit
I had dinner at Paradisescape tonight and was fortunate to find a parking spot nearby, which can be quite challenging in this area. The restaurant has a cozy and inviting atmosphere, with warm lighting and tasteful decor that creates a relaxing dining experience. There was plenty of seating available, so I settled in and ordered the stir-fry Peking duck with noodles and a side of chips. I requested the stir-fry to be prepared with less oil and the chips with less salt. Unfortunately, the stir-fry was still quite oily, and the chips were rather salty. I did mention this to the proprietor. Despite this, I appreciate supporting vegan restaurants and was pleased to have the opportunity to dine there.
Pros: Fully vegan , A large varied menu, Nice ambiance
Cons: Too much oil , Too much salt , Seats were a bit uncomfortable
Paradisescape
Thank you for dining with us and for your feedback! We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and found a spot nearby. Apologies for the extra oil and salt, but we’re happy to hear you still enjoyed it enough to finish the bowl! We’ll make sure to take extra care with special requests next time. Hope to welcome you back soon!

Please stay vegan - Edit
I am tentatively happy that this place has gone vegan again. They have a very varied menu, which can be a little off-putting (I tend to assume places that do everything aren't amazing at any one thing, or they're good at something and terrible at something else) but I've been pleased with the food I've got here so far. I'll be making a point of ordering/popping in more regularly when possible to support their move back to being vegan, and plan to try more things. So far I've tried and can recommend the bibimbap, the laksa and the duck noodles.

Escape hatch - Edit
Yes the title is a bit obscure, but it’s a reference to the way this place panicked and started serving corpses when the CLC hit (as if this were an *escape hatch* from the economic downturn. Thank you very much). I’m sympathetic to the financial desperation but still think the idea was ill-founded. I am cautiously glad they have gone vegan again, although it will be forever ingrained into my mind that they may turn if the going gets tough. I’ve now had dinner there two weeks in a row. The menu hasn’t really changed since the years BC (Before Corpses) but we ordered a couple things I didn’t remember seeing before: the grilled king oyster mushroom with vegetables and tempeh, and the unagi don, preceded by the delicious chicken dumplings and not-bad chicken skewers. To be honest most things were a bit on the sweet side, particularly the mushroom dish, flavoured with a syrupy, sickly sauce, so much so I could feel my digestive system starting to have a few reverse jolts. The kale in this dish was deep-fried into deliciousness (Kim Hill, 1995) but this was the only highlight, although the tempeh was OK. Even the mushrooms themselves were a bit tough and the vegetables lacklustre. Moving on, the don was a little sweet too but I generally enjoyed this more and liked the texture of the unagi. On the next visit we were careful to choose more savoury (and lighter) dishes. The lemon, salt and pepper calamari was delicious, with the calamari itself having a lovely flavour, and served with a tasty fresh dressing, but this was much smaller dish than we realised. (At $20.99, certainly the price gave no hints.) I don’t tend to get excited about poké bowls but the one here ended up being quite tasty and the ingredients combined well, with the yuzu mayo providing moistness and coherence to a dish with varied textures and diverse but harmonious flavours. Support one of the few remaining vegan dining restaurants in Melbourne if you’re able - so it doesn’t jump out the escape hatch again.

Pros: some vegan options, large serves
Cons: Now serves meat., not as cheap as it used to be
Tiggy
I hadn’t read this review until now. I am disappointed to see that the business considers veganism a matter of inclusivity rather than animal liberation. This is the attitude that makes businesses think all they have to is provide one ‘vegan option’ and they have done their duty to veganism, while continuing to serve slaughtered animals. We wouldn’t want to exclude the poor marginalised corpse-eaters, would we? This is why, despite the fact the restaurant has now become vegan again, I worry it might return to serving flesh if they feel business is slow.

I drive across town for the Laksa - Edit

Nice food in a good location - Edit
I thought the food was good. The menu was quite diverse and I found the ambience to be pleasant. Unlike others though, I didn't think the service was that great. Maybe it was because I was by myself but no one came over to get my order and even after trying to go up and order with no one there I gave up and ordered on my phone. This was fine except they didn't have the full menu available and you could make notes/modifications. So I ended up settling for something I wasn't 100% sure on.

We came here for a meal in that inbetween time (very late lunch, very early dinner) and it was very quiet.
Read moreWe ordered the eggplant kimchi bao which was ok, a little spicy, but the bao was quite soggy at the bottom, from the sauce.
We also got the hokkien Peking duck, which was a very generous serve. It was very good, but I found the sauce a bit sweet for me as I'm not a fan of hoisin or teriyaki style sauces.
I would love them to bring back the drunken noodles, or do a more savoury sauce with these noodles. The texture of the duck was quite odd, very soft, and unlike any fake duck I've had before.
