Unique and tasty vegan dishes for all courses (including dessert). Staff was knowledgeable about vegan items and modifications.

Best meal of our lives. - Edit
Just do it. Grab a reservation (we made one 3 months in advance). We sat at the kitchen counter so we could see the prep behind the scenes. All of the chefs and staff members were super nice and answered our questions. The food was really the best.

Went to Oyster Oyster recommended on a post of Gene Baur and the food was amazing and the staff were so nice. Most expensive restaurant I had ever been to but worth it! Even my non vegan girlfriend was impressed. It’s a veg restaurant with the exception of oysters.

This is definitely a “special night out” type of place. All the dishes were unique, well thought out, and beautiful. The food quality was unsurpassed. If you tell them you’re vegan, they replace oysters with oyster mushrooms in the dishes. The mushroom broth, beet bread, and sweet potato dishes were definitely highlights.
Read moreI do wish there was more of each dish, but we did get a tasting menu. The wine selection and cocktails were excellent. I would definitely go back, but only for the most special of occasions given the price tag ($250 for two, plus drinks).

Incredibile food, wine, and service. A vegan tasting menu that changes seasonally and is based on local and foraged ingredients. The wine pairing option elevates the experience. A cozy and intimate spot for special occasions.

Pricey, upscale "plant-forward" fare. Warm and welcoming atmosphere, excellent, friendly service and very interesting food. Mostly vegan, except, I think, for oysters and some butter on the non-vegan menu. No problem getting a fully vegan tasting menu. Good for a special occasion.

This was my first time dining at Oyster Oyster and my boyfriend and I were blown away. We got a 7 course vegan tasting menu and each course was incredibly delicious. The chef thoughtfully prepares each beautiful course.
Read moreI’ve eaten at a lot of vegan places in DC but never one like this. The vegetables in each dish were completely transformed into something magical. In addition, our waitress was super sweet and welcoming. While the restaurant and plates have an upscale vibe, there is nothing stuffy about the staff or service. Everyone we interacted with was knowledgeable and down to earth.
I can’t wait to go back to this place! If you’re looking for a unique, high-quality menu, this is the perfect DC spot.

Overpriced - Edit
I got take out from this restaurant, and I really wanted to love it, but it fell short. My boyfriend spent a lot of money on our dinner, I think close to $100 and we were still hungry after eating all of it! We ordered a multi course vegan dinner, and everything was pretty good, just small. They do change their menu often and have been evolving throughout the pandemic. I would try it again but and will update my review if I have a different experience the next time. There are definitely better options for your money like Equinox or Fancy Radish.
