Fully vegan coffee car established in 2020. Offers coffees, hot chocolates, teas, cold drinks (including iced lattes and milkshakes throughout summer). Also has house-made sweet treats available including double choc chip cookies and gluten-free fruity flapjacks. Uses ethically sourced, locally roasted Podda and Wren coffee and MoMA Barista oat milk (UK-grown oats) with other plant milks also available . Biodegradable and compostable takeaway cups and lids are used, or get a discount by bringing own coffee cup. Regular pitch at Derwentwater Independent Hostel by the lake near Keswick. Open Mon-Wed 11:00-14:30, Sat-Sun 11:00-14:00. Closed Mon - Fri. Hours can vary - check social media before visiting!

We happened to stumble upon this place on a walk and were glad that we stopped by. The owner was absolutely lovely and the vibes tranquil. The coconut hot chocolate was delicious and the double chocolate cookie/brownie was incredible!

What a nice little surprise. Don’t expect a vegan coffee stall here right at the side of Derwent Water. Coffee was lovely, as was the flapjack and cherry chocolate tiffin. Will definitely be back!

What a find New Dawn Vegan coffee shop was, easily accessible by the 78 bus which stops right outside. Dawn bakes all the gorgeous vegan cakes and she is a mean coffee maker. My husband is a fusspot about coffee and this got 10/10. The chocolate cookie and cherry tiffin were fantastic. There are chairs to sit on with views of Derwentwater, it's perfect. Will be visiting again before we go home.

Stopped by for a brief visit on the way back after a day at Whinlatter Forest. Very friendly owner and loads of great drink options - including coffees, teas and hot chocolates. Food options included a cookie, a flapjack and a crumble-esque bake. Really recommend - a lovely spot.

If you like pleasant lakeland walks and top notch coffee then put this delightful little coffee cart on your itinerary. This cute little mobile cafe is well worth a stop or detour to so you can sip the delicious locally roasted blends, freshly and carefully prepared by the lakeside. What small sweet selection they have is geared to healthy and energy giving boosts with a touch of indulgence. I will definitely be coming back.

Visited New Dawn a couple of times and will definitely be a regular from now on. Really well positioned right next to Derwent Water, large menu of vegan hot and cold drinks, and super tasty sweet treats. I have tried the flapjack and date slice, both amazing. Super nice vibes from the owner too, inclusive space and seating that faces out onto the lake. Beautiful.

Situated at the Independent Youth Hostel on Derwentwater, New Dawn Vegan Coffee shop boasts gorgeous views along with delicious coffee and possibly the best cookies this side of the Atlantic. Dawn is incredibly warm and friendly, and will do everything possible to cater for allergies. Well worth a visit!

If you're lucky Dawn may have a treat or two for your four legged companion and you'll set off for the hills refueled for the rest of the day.

We were delighted to be able to visit the New Dawn Coffee Shop on a recent visit to the Lake District. Dawn's concept is absolutely wonderful - vegan coffees and snacks in a beautiful location. We had 2 delicious and piping hot flat whites and the most amazing vegan brownies we've ever tasted. Our dogs didn't go hungry either as Dawn has vegan treats for dogs too! Dawn is so lovely and friendly and is a fountain of knowledge on the local area! This venture is so wonderful for the Lake District and I wish Dawn, Gloria and the Fox all the best for this fantastic venture.

Wonderful Illy coffee in beautiful surroundings - Edit
Great little mobile coffee shop owned by a friendly lady. The coffee is good (Illy- my favourite) and the home baked cookies are to die for! I loved the choice of plant based milks, especially the offerings of oat milk instead of just soya which is what you often get as a vegan/plant based alternative. It’s nice to have somewhere like this which is a little bit different to going and sitting in a cafe. The views are always delightful and it’s very dog friendly- in fact I think there are treats on offer for our furry friends as well!
