Delicious

Absolutely delicious Egyptian food with clearly marked vegan options and vegetarian ones that can be veganised. Be prepared for a wait, especially at weekends, as it’s very popular

Amazing!

Maha's is well known and for a good reason... It's delicious & flavorful! Lots of excellent vegan & vegetarian options (the lentil soup is unreal)! Waits on weekends can be very long but coming earlier is definitely helpful, and in any case it's worth the wait!

Cons: Wait can be long -- plan your visit accordingly

A vegan gem!

I have been to Maha’s many times and it was a no brainer to celebrate my birthday there yesterday as the delicious food I order never fails to satisfy me! Just can’t believe that have forgotten to review it on my previous visits!
Their menu clearly marks which items are vegan - betengan sandwich and foole and felafel sandwich of which have had both. On this occasion I ordered the betengan sandwich, a side order of falafels with tahini sauce and cumin home fries. All food is freshly prepared so depending how busy they are the wait times vary especially on the weekends when lineups form early. My meal was delicious and came out fresh.
They do have a small selection of vegan desserts however not on this occasion. I ordered a cardamom oat latte specifically saying no to honey. The drink was very tasty and a bit sweet which my server said that they had probably put a syrup in. The servers and restaurant clearly understand veganism as was recommended a vegan dessert on my visit but then my server informed there was butter. No problem.
I have personally tried the lentil soup, beet salad, hummus and baba han push with bread, both vegan sandwiches , home fries and felafels on previous visits. All are delicious! It is a bit pricey however the portions are good and the food is always freshly prepared making this place a go to for me many times over. Recommend going weekdays as weekends have long waits especially around noon.
Gave it 4 stars as they serve meat but the vegan food is 5 stars!

A Go-To!

This is my go to brunch place to switch things up from the usual western way of things. Biggest tip is to definitely go during a weekday, but even then the wait to be seated can be quite lengthy.

Not My Favorite

As much as I really wanted to love my food, it just wasn't that great. I ordered the falafel, foole, hummus, and lentil soup, but my favorite was the Egyptian bread. Unfortunately, the bread was very expensive, so I kind of had to stick to my other dishes. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was great, but the food was just not my favorite.

Pros: Atmosphere, Friendly and knowledgable staff

Cons: Expensive bread, Not my favorite food

i fell i love with fava beans

The foole and taameia are so good, it’s ridiculous. Only downfall is you will pretty much always wait in a long line to get in to this place, but it’s worth it.
