Bit bland - Edit
My feelings about this location are a bit mixed. To me the food was quite bland and boring but if I were to visit the town again, I’d give it another shot with one of their noodle dishes. Staff was friendly but for now, definitely not a must try in my opinion.

Sehr kinderfreundlich und nettes Restaurant! Das Essen schmeckte, egal was wir bestellten. Es sind auch mal etwas andere Gerichte als die, die man schon kennt.

Great place - Edit
The menu isn’t as extensive as the botanist which is just a few doors down but the food is great and the atmosphere is good. The local food is better than the pasta dishes although it’s good to have a bit of variety

Great place with awesome vegan food - Edit
The spot is really nice, atmosphere is cozy and there is quite a lot of space.
Read moreThe food is delicious, the Nyonya Curry Ramen and Tempeh Cubes to die for!
I didnt like the Ramen Soup, but it was just a wrong decision of mine. Quality and taste is probably as it should be, just doesnt meet my taste (too much like chicken soup).
Staff is friendly, prices are absolutely okay. Total recommendation!

Fresh Quality Healthy Dining - Edit
Lutan is a mid-level veg Chinese restaurant outside of the main drag with a very cozy visual and sound aesthetic.
Read moreThe menu features more herbal, mushroom, and non-processed proteins. This means less bold flavor and more pleasant subtle ones.
I ordered the fixed special that came with herbal soy and fungus soup, some sides of veggies, tea, and a bowl of rice. I also enjoyed a sour plum juice and the warm, creamy red bean dessert.
Pros: Quality food, Cozy vibes
Cons: Well-outside of tourist area, Not much English support

Disappointing Experience - Edit
Having eaten in some of the other vegetarian restaurants nearby, we were expecting at least a solid dining experience but unfortunately, it was a little short of that.
Read moreThe actual inside of the restaurant was pleasant enough. However, there was an issue in that there was a cockroach on the floor next to the food preparation area and even though it was acknowledged by a member of staff, upon returning from the bathroom, I saw that it was not removed and the member of staff was no longer to be found.
The menu itself was pretty basic with not that many items. One of the meals we ordered was quite pleasant but the Nasi Lemak lacked any sort of flavour and the soup broth that came with the noodle dish was also quite bland. On the whole, the meal was disappointing, taste-wise, and ordering carefully is definitely important.
We also had another issue in that despite eating with small children, we were provided with ceramic spoons for them to eat their soup with. Unfortunately, one of these was dropped during the meal and we were charged for it. This would've been easier to stomach had we really enjoyed our meal but we hadn't. We also managed to receive a parking ticket when parking in the restaurant's parking spots. This is obviously not the fault of the restaurant itself but something that diners should be careful of.
Overall, it was an average Chinese vegetarian restaurant that was just more memorable for a few things that went wrong when we visited.
Pros: The Decor Is Pleasant, Some Menu Items Were Tasty
Cons: Hygiene And Attitude Towards Hygiene Not Great, Customer Service Not The Best, A Bit Of Blandness In Dishes

Operated by the same Veggie Planet boss this place specialise in Formosa braised dishes. Upmarket with cute and tasteful retro items of yester years such as hurricane gas lamp and ancient hot pots. Even the light switches was a deliberate remake of long gone era

The place has a quirky touch, only been opened for 7 months. Food was good but a bit pricey for Malaysian standards. Would recommend for those who wants something more healthy.
