Beautiful, good quality, healthy food.

I must admit I am a regular at Lhamo’s Croissant. Not only is the food excellent, but it is also a nice place to hang out. I find it is a space where you can easily interact with other people, but you can also sit alone to study, with a book, or your laptop and the wi-fi. The middle level is good for this, having cushions and low tables. The roof space is good for enjoying fresh air and a mountain view.

It is my genuine opinion that the salads here are the best – just amazing – with plenty of spinach and greens, and a great variety of fresh colourful ingredients. A large part of the menu is vegan, and most of the other choices can be modified to order and made vegan too. The cake selection always has vegan or gluten-free options, alongside the usual egg and dairy kind. All is really healthy, tasty, attractive and popular. The choice of smoothies can also be modified with soya or coconut-milk options. Kombucha from the local “Peepal Farm” is on the menu.

The front of the restaurant has a bakery-style display, with fresh bread alongside the cakes and croissants – all for take-away too. In a town where the vegan options are still quite few, I think this is definitely a place I would recommend. There is a local Gouda cheese for sale, but I know for a fact, that Lhamo continually strives to improve the vegan-friendly nature of the business.

Lhamo has recently added a new Choco Banana cake. It is Vegan, Gluten-free and sugar-free, and is actually very tasty. Deservedly popular.

Disgusting chocolate mocha cake

Bought the chocolate mocha cake to takeaway after being recommended it from the server. The cake was dry and dusty and tasted like what I can only describe as incense. Truly awful tasting and was expensive at 90 rupees. Perhaps a bad batch but would not risk visiting again.

Cons: Bad cake

Nutricious and Delicious

We stopped by for smoothies and a piece of cake! The smoothies were thick and cold and packed with goodness! The banana and chocolate cake was a real treat! The rest of the menu looked like it would be just as nourishing, fresh and delicious! I would definitely go back to sample what else there is to offer!

fresh, local and nutrient dense

I’ve been taking my dinner at Llamos for the past 3 months during my stay in mcleodganj. I feel so lucky to have found this place as there is nothing that compares in town if you are looking for fresh, natural all homemade food. The best part is the staff is always upbeat, smiling and preparing your food with joy and care. Highly recommend her warm and thick soups, bread and vegan cakes. I will surely miss this place.

Pros: staff , food quality , portions
