Best vegan sandwich ever - Edit
I had the sausage and leeks baguette sandwich and it’s probably the best one I’ve had in a long time.
Read moreVery tasty and the bread was toasted and warm, really nice touch.
Also had the polenta cake which was very nice.
Prices aren’t cheap but quality is top!

Nice cakes - Edit
The cakes and coffe is alright, just sometimes they are not open by the opening times they have on social or here. They're right across from my cats vets so it's good palce to get a treat ( for me) while waiting:)

Delicious! - Edit
Everyone loved it. Texture was lovely and not overly sweet. Would definitely recommend.

Good selection of treats to take-away - Edit
A wide selection of sweet treats to take away, including cakes, cookies, brownies and pastries, as well as some savoury light lunches and snacks. Lots of gluten free options to choose from with the sweet treats too which meant plenty of choice.

Fabulous Vegan Cafe - Edit
I last reviewed this place when it wasn’t fully vegan, but since becoming vegan some time ago this has become one of my favourite places to eat. The staff are lovely and the cafe looks great. The breakfasts are amazing and there is always a great selection of cakes. The coffee is also really good.

Cons: None now they are all vegan 😀

Hey Chris, I know this is an old review from when we were a vegetarian and vegan cafe but I didn't see this until today and wanted to take the time and say thank you for writing a review then. We appreciate the support and so happy to be no 100% vegan!

Delicious - Edit
I was so impressed by the quality of the food at Lele’s Dalston (their 2nd location) yesterday!!! I am not vegan and I was quite curious when I ordered a full English Breakfast and it was really delicious (and huge). Everything was cooked with lots of flavours. Very generous portions too. The staff were very nice and helpful. The restaurant itself has got a great relaxing atmosphere. I couldn’t resist and got a peanut butter brownie for dessert. So so good! I can’t wait to go back!

Great food, but disorganised - Edit
I really wanted to love the café and if they had gotten our orders right, I might have. The café is on a main road with five small tables and a couple of seats along the window. We visited on a sunny day so the door was constantly open and traffic noises flowing in non stop.
Read moreCute interior with fresh flowers. I really liked that everything seemed freshly made. However, not only were our orders mixed up but those of at least three other tables while we were there. They did give me a choice-to wait till what I had ordered was made it to take the full English that they made although it wasn’t what I had ordered. I was starting to get impatient and took what was ready. Would have been nice to get a discount or something. In any case, the food was nice, especially the sourdough bread, but the overall experience didn’t live up to my expectations.

Hello!
Read moreThank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review and some feedback, that is very appreciated!
Sorry to hear your experience wasn't the best when visiting us, I remember that day and your oder too, just to give you an explanation this is what happened: When serving your pancake breakfast a gentleman on another table thought it was his and got it instead! We should have triple check with the table numbers before giving him the dish but we were so busy, nevertheless it was our fault. I have asked the team to ask you whether you wanted to wait for your dish and or take the full english instead (this was the dish the guy next to your table ordered) - then I told them to offer a discount and or a cake and coffee (whatever you fancied the most) as a way to apologies for the wait and thank you for being flexible - not sure what went wrong! Please email us here: info@leleslondon.com so can we organise a voucher for a cake and a coffee. Have a great weekend!

Hi, thanks so much for taking the time to leave us a feedback. We are really sorry to hear about your experience, our cakes are very popular and we always receive great feedback on them - not sure what went wrong with your cakes but we will make sure to check them carefully. We genuinely appreciate constructive feedback as we always want to improve our offering. It would have been great if you would have communicated this to us at the cafe, that would have been given us the chance to offer you another cake and most of all of understating what went wrong with your treats. Sorry to say this but the word horrible is a very strong word and it shouldn't be used lightly. We hope you will give us another chance and will be happy to offer you cakes and coffee on the house, please get in touch here ifo@leleslondon.com

Really great food, lovely place - Edit
Lele's is one of my favourite places, for lots of reasons: a welcoming and a very nice atmosphere; the people who work there are always genuinely friendly, even if they are really, really busy - and I really cannot say this about a lot of vegan places these days.
Read moreSome people might say that orders take a long time to arrive sometimes, but consider that one person has to deal with all the drink and coffee orders, prepare fresh juices made on the spot (never pre-made!), get salads and other cold food on the plates and serve the numerous take away customers at the same time, and all of that in a really tiny work space. And on top of that, they are always in a good mood and never lose their temper. In short, the service is really TOP.
I have been there quite often, and the savoury food was always great - full of flavour and very good value for money. The portions are generous, and the so-called "salads" are packed with veggies of all kinds and really filling.
The coffee is amazing - compare this one to the brown coloured water that you'll get in the hipsterish cafe across the street and you will know what I am talking about.
The only thing I could criticise is that the cakes are a bit underwhelming compared to the other food. They seem to be on the very sweet and sticky side and a bit pricey for what they are (tiny bakewell tart for £3.50 had not much taste except sugar; a lot of creamy, cupcake-ish stuff on top of an actually nice chocolate cake etc.). But I guess that's down to personal taste.
I also wish they would take cash payments - the idea of the cashless society has lots of negative sides and I don't want to contribute to it's progression.
I haven't had the chance to check out their evening menu yet, but I am sure that it's excellent!
Leles
Hello Clanon, thank you so much for taking the time to write this lovely review, it sincerely makes us so happy to see that you are happy with our service, we really love our team and are so proud to read your comments. Regarding the card payments, we hear you and agree with you but we had to make this change to protect our team and venue against thefts. Hope to see you soon at the cafe?

Small but super cute - Edit
The food is all dressed in flowers which idk if theyre edible I would assume do but they make the food look fancy. Plus there are plants everywhere and a cute lil stairwell down to the kitchen. My french toast was really nice with TONS of peanut butter and my croissant was really flakey. The only downside is that we had to wait for a table because theres so few of them and also that the big mixer is in the open counter thing and it is SO loud when theyre blending. Staff were so nice though too

Afternoon tea did not live up to expectation - Edit
The setting’s lovely and the staff were very friendly but the food really wasn’t good. Having had a great experience at Cafe Forty One I had high expectations but they really weren’t met. When we arrived we were put on a shared table with 2 other people. I understand space is limited, but for a special event (and at that price it should be special) it kind of restrained any conversation for both us and the 2 other customers. Then the food came out at random times. First some people got sandwiches, we got cakes, others got pies and only half of it was explained properly rather than serving everything then making one big announcement of what it all was. I also noticed that we didn’t get any macaroons when the next table along did.
Read moreThe important part was the food of course and most of that just wasn’t very nice. The flavours of lemon and apricot were overpowering and the scone was the hardest, chewiest scone I’ve ever had. I couldn’t finish most the meal.

Hello and thanks ever so much for taking the time to leave us a review, we always appreciate constructive feedback as they give us the opportunity to improve our service. We are genuinely sorry to hear you didn't have a good experience and hopefully we can do better next time! This review genuinely comes as a surprise to us and it is the very first negative feedback we had in over one year. Our afternoon tea is very popular and fully booked for months, by reading other reviews you could see the fantastic feedbacks we usually receive for our teas, nevertheless we are very sorry you didn't enjoy it. We wish you had told us then that you weren't happy with the table and with the food, as we would have tried our best to accommodate you - we want nothing more than have happy returning clients! Hope to see you soon and hopefully to have the chance to change your mind. Very best
