My go-to for organic produce - Edit
Leezen has taken its place in my heart as my favorite spot to buy organic produce and other vegan ingredients. It doesn't sell eggs or dairy, but some of the snacks and most of the breads are not vegan. But I find that I can shop most confidently at Leezen since all items are clearly labeled whether they used organic or natural agricultural practices. Of course, it’s going to be more expensive than a traditional market, but that’s to be expected since they have to pay rent, run utilities (good luck finding AC at a traditional market), and label and pre-package everything. My biggest qualm is with the last thing I just mentioned: I wish the produce weren’t packaged in plastic bags. It’s really not environmentally friendly, and I always end up with bags that aren’t reusable as trash bags since they usually have venting holes. If they really want to help the environment, this is where they can improve. Otherwise, I’m quite happy with shopping here: the service is really good, and sometimes certain items are 20-30% off! (I do have to go elsewhere for green onions and garlic though: Leezen is part of a Buddhist organization, so they’ll never carry those items.) This flagship location serving Taichung also carries clothing, so you can wear natural fibers if you’re into that.

A gem in Taichung - Edit
Good selection of organic local produce, frozen and refrigerated goods. Many items benefit local tribes and farmers. Most products include some English labels, staff speaks some English. Also organic cotton clothing and Buddhist jewelry for sale. Vegetarian restaurant upstairs, have not tried it yet. Looking forward to being a regular customer!
