Great grab & go food! Reasonable prices (for Hawaii)

My husband and I were thrilled that this opened just before our trip to Hawaii in the market right next to our hotel. We stopped there four or five times during our trip and would have been there more except we couldn't always get the hours to align with our schedule.

This is really a great little place. It's got a rotating selection of foods: sandwiches, bumpkins (kind of like muffins), desserts, chips and spreads. You'll want to stop there frequently - maybe every day - to pick up lunch for your hike or your beach day. The food is very reasonably priced (for Hawaii), convenient, and quite tasty. For example we had a few vegetable and vegan cheese sandwiches and they were amazing - the ingredients were simple but the Hawaiian produce made the sandwich really very good. And the best part was the sandwich cost only $7.00 (compared to a similar sandwich for $12.00 at the health food store - food in Hawaii is very expensive).

I would suggest asking whoever is working at the store if there is anything they recommend buying. For example, we bought some tofu musubus only because the saleswoman recommended them and they were excellent, we bought more next time they were in stock. Another day one of the other customers recommended trying the Baba Ghanoush because it was a Hawaiian version of the spread and quite different than traditional Baba Ghanoush so we bought some of that and it was fantastic!

This place also has a cool origin story. It was started by a student who won a business competition and received funding to help her open the store. Always great to see young vegan entrepreneurs!

The downside is that since the food rotates you may go in hoping for a sandwich but with no sandwiches available. But definitely go there as much as you can!

Pros: Great food, Very good prices, Friendly staff!

Cons: Hours can sometimes make it difficult to get there
