This place has closed

We just walked to the restaurant as per google maps and we were informed by a homestay near there that the restaurant has been closed for some time now.

Hidden gem

I was out walking one day in Munduk and passed by the little hut on the side of the road that has a sign saying 'Vegatarian'. I was instantly intrigued. 'I'm one of those!' I thought. I walked up to the hut but it was closed up and there was no-one around. I checked HappyCow and saw nothing denoting a vegetarian or vegan place down this track, so I continued my search to find answers. Next up was Google which told me that it was a little warung-type place. The pictures looked good, tasty looking food! I started salivating!
I found a contact number and reached out, trying not to get my hopes too high. Munduk is, after all, a small rural village in the middle of the mountains, and it was low season, so I was the only tourist that week- it was a long shot that she would open just for me, but I put myself on the line.
She got back to me (after about 24 hours) and said that she would gladly cook for me! Success! I told her I was in Munduk for the week so I'd come by one day. I messaged her one morning and asked whether she'd do me some lunch. She was stocked! She asked me what I wanted and sent me at least 10 pictures of food that she could cook for me. She said she'd make me anything. I told her I liked jackfruit and tofu and that she could have free reign.
When I arrived I messaged her and she walked me up to her house. I think that since she has only just opened this business she is doing all the cooking at home, and so it's easier just for people to come over, instead of her bringing all the food down to the hut. She introduced me to her sister, who I think does a lot of the cooking. I sat out on the porch of her house and they brought me out 3 dishes. I had a tofu in what tasted like a mapo tofu sauce, then soup with rice noodles, vegetables, tofu pieces and little dumplings (also tofu), and lastly fried jackfruit as a sort of dessert. It was all delicious! There was a lot of food placed in front of me, and I can happily say that I ate it all!
I told Chandrika about HappyCow and showed her the logo, but her English is limited so I'm not sure she understood what I was saying, hence why I've added this listing instead of her. I hope that come next season her business will get off the ground and she will have much success. Munduk is in need of a solely vegan place and I hope that she gets the custom that she deserves!
For the 3 dishes she charged me 80K Rupiah which I think was very reasonable.

Pros: Delicious food made to order, Vegan!

Cons: House is uphill from the hut so the walk is tough, Have to call ahead for her to cook food
