Delicious food with loads of vegan options - Edit
This is my second visit to this restaurant, and if I lived in Inverness, I would definitely come here at least once a month. The service was fantastic, and the food came out quickly and tasted great.
Read moreI brought along my friend who isn’t vegan, but he ordered vegan dishes so we could share. He kept saying how tasty it was and couldn't believe how good it was.
I plan to come back every time I’m in Inverness visiting friends.

Pros: Loads of vegan options, Staff are very attentive, helpful and polite , Fast service
Cons: Drinks + Food a bit pricey for a small city , Too much salt in some meals can be overpowering

Worth the wait - Edit
My partner and I booked our evening meal at Hou Hou Mei about six weeks in advance (it's regularly fully booked). However, it was totally worth the wait! We split sticky sesame cauliflower "wings" and vegetable spring rolls to start, followed by the miso mushroom noodles and the tofu and aubergine blackbean. Everything we ate was gorgeous, generously portioned and very filling. We didn't have room for dessert! (despite there being vegan options)

Make a reservation! This place is busy, and it’s easy to see why. There are plentiful vegan small plates, main dishes, and desserts—and they are delicious!

The food was good but we really couldn't finish a starter and a main each 💀 Get the cauli wings! Noodles seemed a bit under-seasoned so I suggest sticking with the rice-based mains.

The kimchi margarita is unreal, as are the cauliflower wings. The mushroom noodles were okay, a little tough/chewey and under-seasoned. Robin ordered the tofu sichuan and it was way better than mine.

An asian fusion restaurant with Japanese, Korean, Thai and Cantonese options including vegan mains, small plates and desserts. Vegetables, tofu, cauliflower & aubergine are the main components of dishes. It has friendly staff, nice decor and vibe. It’s the go to place for locals who are looking to celebrate or have a nice time. It’s quite pricey but the quality, portion sizes and service is good. Booking is a must (it took ages to find availability; but is easily done online).
Read moreWe ordered crispy tofu bao buns (very good flavours and textures), cauliflower sweet and sour (sticky rice comes with it, sauce was great and good texture but cauliflower quite flavourless), wok greens (is a nice light sauce) & Chinese dumplings with tofu and kimchi (interesting flavours). Vegan choices on every part of the menu. So much to try and all very tasty! I particularly enjoyed the tofu bao buns and the noodles. Would happily visit again !
