Great food but not so great hygiene - Edit

The price was amazing for a buffet with delicious food.

A few words of caution for those sensitive about hygiene. It did not seem that the restaurant put the cups through a dishwasher prior to reuse. I think they just went into a basin with some water. I think the same was true for the little metal dishes that they put spices in. If you bring your own water and are mindful about what has been cleaned (or not) you should be fine. I was not aware of this beforehand and felt a bit grossed out.

Nevertheless, I would go back again if I was in Colombo.

Delicious and fast - Edit

A variety of awesome South Indian and Sri Lankan specialities. Delicious and fresh. Also everything available to go. Busy place. Many options to choose from. Some stuff can be ordered less spicy (no chilli) others like the sambal, daal etc. is already prepared and therefore comes spicy as usual. I ordered vegetable utapam for instance and they made it without chilli upon my request which was great. The kottu I ordered without chilli came with chilli though because they prepare it in big quantities. Highly recommend the utapams.

Pros: All vegetarian or vegan, Fast and fresh, Good price

Great price for good vegan food! - Edit

My family and I take the bus up Galle Road to the Gandhi Lodge once a week for their ever changing selection of vegan foods. Authentic food as evidenced by the locals eating there. The food is delicious and you can't beat the price of about one USD. The dining area is clean and the staff welcoming. Some English spoken. We go to the buffet up the stairs, but there is also a restaurant downstairs.
