provided lovely vegan options

our family chose this charming spot for a reunion, and we were offered two vegan starters and one vegan entree - all three were delicious.

For starters, we had the sourdough, marinated olives, olive oil, aged balsamic (£9) and the portobello mushroom, cashew yoghurt, spinach, dukkha, tahini dressing (£7). Both were excellent, but the portobello was our favorite.

For dinner, we had the vegan fishcake - celeriac remoulade, cucumber and fennel salad, mustard dressing (£16). Was delicious and not super fishy tasting (sometimes vegan fish freaks me out and this did not)!

The servers and manager were quite kind and patient with our large group. We drank black americanos and were full and caffeinated when we left.

Pros: multiple vegan options, quaint village, lovely views, kind servers

Cons: tiny winding one lane road to get there, smells a bit fishy inside, no notable vegan dessert offerings

Had vegan options - now seem to have been removed!

I have been here a few times - they did have a lentil pie for a main but have removed it and replaced it a burger. Shame as this is the option on the Sunday roast menu as well... There were a couple of small bites on the snacks menu and they have also removed the vegan pudding. Maybe they didn't sell enough and that's why it has all been removed...

Pros: Location

Cons: Menu is seriously limited

A mixed bag

We had lunch here and had two different items on the food menu. The Sumac roasted sweet potato was really lovely and flavoursome. Unfortunately the lentil pie lacked flavour and wasn't really a pie. It was just a stew with a pastry hat on. It tasted like the chef had completely forgotten to season it to be honest and at that price, that was disappointing.

Pros: Lovely setting

Cons: Mixed quality of food, Expensive
