Goede vegan opties!

A little more effort on the vegan menu and it would have been 4 stars

I would say 3.5 stars, but that is not an option. I am rounding it down to 3 because or cons weigh a bit more than the pros.

First of all the food was delicious and it was presented very well*. Most ingredients were locally sourced, and all were organic. These are two big pros. An observation was be that all courses were kind of the same colour pallet: yellow/brown/green. Potentially because of the time of the year, winter.

We took the 5-course dinner. Two had the "normal" menu and two the vegan alternative. In most courses it was balanced, expect a few things:
1. An optional starter was offered to the omnivores, i.e. charcuterie accompanied with pickled vegetables. There was nothing for the vegans. This was kind of a disappointment early in the process. I think it could have quite easily been avoided, same vegetables but then with for example a spread with crackers or tempura; something savoury like the meat.
2. One course was the same for all, but the meat version had a slice of fried bacon (?) on it. As I assume this was done because the saltiness and crispiness add another dimension. Just leaving it out felt a bit simplistic.
3. The main course (#4) could have used something extra so it would feel a bit more. The vegan dish has 2 items, the meat had 3 items of which one was pig neck (procureur). While the 2 with the vegan menu still felt like they could eat something, the other 2 felt satisfied.

In other reviews the high price is mentioned as a con. For a fine dining restaurant I think they are fair in their pricing, so it met expectations. While most of the costs sit in effort and not ingredients, I do think the non-vegan menu has a higher cost. This is not differentiated towards to customers but I think it might be fair (e.g. lacto/meat fee).

I would seriously consider going back here, although then in another season like spring or summer. The restaurants offers also outdoor seating on the waterside and that looked very appealing on a warmer day.

* No photos because I don't like to bring my phone to the table in a fine dining restaurant, so you have to trust me.

Pros: Delicious food, beautifully presented, Very good pairing of the food and wine, Locally sourced, organic ingredients

Cons: Vegan vs. omnivore did not feel like 1:1, I felt like I could eat a bit more, Vegan needs to be pre-ordered

Amazing experience!

I went to De Kleischuur with friends for dinner and we all really enjoyed it. The food was very tasty, the staff was very friendly and it was just overall an amazing experience.

I forgot to take pictures, so you just have to believe me on my words: go to De Kleischuur if you want to eat delicious, special food.

Obviously it's more pricey than a regular restaurant, but it's also something for special occasions.

Pros: Delicious vegan food, Very friendly staff, Location is beautiful

Cons: It's pricey, but worth it

Lovely!

Ate here a couple of times. One time with a friend of mine and one time with the Tasty Walk Gouda. Went here for dinner & it was soo good! The menu keeps changing which is nice so every time you go there it's a suprise what you can get! All the times the people working there were really nice and even with corona we could use the toilet. They explain what ingredients is in your food. They keep expending their vegan options on the menu which is great :D

The only downside it that's really price. I'm still a student so I can't afford it that often. The portions are also small and I'm a big eater so mostly they are to small for me compared to the price.

high quality, very pricey

Very tasteful food in this restaurant with a nice mission. Creative and attentively served food and tasty vegetables. The service is friendly, the decor nice.

Still, we wouldn't go back. Just as too much (stuff/ clothing/ food…) is sold for too little money in the world, here it was the other way around. if it's out of balance it's not okay.

Despite the high quality food, the portions were unbelievably small. the idea behind it is very much appreciated and fortunately there are people who can afford it. We are not one of them

Pros: Their mission is beautiful, Veggies! , Great taste.

Cons: price - quantity really out of proportion

Organic restaurant by the water

Lovely place situated right on the edge of the canal, with a waterfront terrace and a really cosy interior. Featuring the house cat who may or may not choose to flank you for the entire time. (If you are annoyed by this, the staff will take him away)

There is one vegan entrée for dinner: grilled eggplant with tabouleh salad and pistachios, and choice between two mains, mushroom ragout with sweet potato and celeriac, and vegetable lasagna. Some dishes, such as the celeriac and apple soup, looked like they could have easily been made without animal ingredients, thus offering an extra entrée to choose from.

I really enjoyed the entrée. The main was also good (and a lot!), but I wonder if I had preferred the vegetable lasagna. So I will have to try that next time. The plating on all dishes was beautiful!

By the end of the evening the serving time had gotten slower, so unfortunately we didn't have time for dessert or tea. It was on a Saturday evening, however, which is obviously busier than other nights.

I'm definitely returning to try out the vegetable lasagna and I've seen some possibly vegan dishes on the lunch menu as well that I'd like to try.

Pros: Many organic dishes ft. lots of veggies, Really nice layout and interior, They have a cat

Cons: I would've liked more vegan options to choose from, Serving time a little too slow by the end
