Jamais comi um arroz de péssima qualidade como este. Áspero e sempre cru, pois pedimos para cozinhar e veio igual. Na segunda vez, piorou, pois além de cru, vinha salgado. A funcionária que nos serviu, veio perguntar da segunda vez, se estava melhor e quando respondemos que estava igual, simplesmente virou as costas e foi embora. O cozinheiro veio à mesa desculpar-se que fazia sempre assim o arroz. Acredito! Mas perde os clientes. O preço foi igual ao que seria se tivéssemos sido bem servidas.

I've never had a poor quality rice like this. Rough and always raw, because we asked to cook and it came the same. The second time, it got worse, because besides being raw, it was also salty. The employee who served us, came to ask the second time, if it was better and when we replied that it was the same, she simply turned her back and left. The cook came to the table to apologize that he always made rice like that. I believe! But you lose customers. The price was equal to what it would have been if we had been well catered for.
Terrible quality and there wasn't even an apology. I do not recommend.

It happens when you are dealing with the public there are some people that you will never satisfy unfortunately no matter how idealistic your cause and fine your heart and exquisite your creations
I eat and to this restaurant as much as six times a week. The food and the art which goes into it is in my opinion the best I have ever consistently experienced in 50 years of being vegan
The family who run it are always welcoming and willing to share their passion for the food and lifestyle. Any enquiry on that front instantly reveals that all the food is sourced from the highest quality available and locally so. As I say for me it rates top amongst the best I have encountered over 50 years Five stars all the way!!

Aproveito para responder na primeira pessoa, enquanto dono e cozinheiro do Botellini, o arroz que lhe foi servido ao contrário da sua opinião é um arroz de altíssima qualidade, da variedade Carnaroli, sendo umas das características desta variedade o facto de ter uma "consistenza soda" ou seja, uma textura mais firme, ao contrário do que acontece com o Arbóreo comumente servido, que acaba por perder a textura dar uma falsa ilusão de cremosidade. Mas percebendo que poderia não estar habituada a este tipo de arroz, dirigi-me à sua mesa não no sentido de me desculpar (ainda que tenha usado essa palavra para introduzir um diálogo amigável) mas no sentido de perceber qual o ponto que gostaria que lhe fosse servido o arroz.

Uma vez que após esta correção o que recebemos na copa da cozinha foram os seus pratos vazios, a conclusão que chegámos era que os mesmos estariam do seu agrado.
Sabemos que nos campos da cozinha torna-se utópico conseguir agradar a todos, contudo desde o atendimento, aos produtos que utilizamos até à maneira como os mesmos são confecionados, buscamos a excelência e autenticidade, respeitando os produtos e a origem dos mesmos e respeitando acima de tudo, todos aqueles que nos visitam.

Restaurante com dois pratos principais por dia. Nossa mesa pediu os dois do dia: tofu à belle meunière (com creme de manteiga e alcaparras) com purê de batatas e almôndegas de grãos com salada. Ambos deliciosos! Com sumo de maçã e framboesa. As sobremesas também muito gostosas.

I was very surprised to find this restaurant in Caldas da Rainha, mainly because it is not located in the center of the city.
Read moreThe waitress explained the menu and told us about the two dishes of the day.
We first had the soup, it was very good.
Then we had both dishes of the day. One was tofu with cream, like the portuguese dish fish with cream. It was very comforting and delicious. The other one was a chickpea curry, it was also delicious.
For dessert, we had the chocolate mousse and the panna cotta. Loved it too!
And it's cheap: only 8,5€ for the soup, dish and dessert.
Would definitely recommend if you come to Caldas da Rainha!

Sempre que ando por esta zona faço sempre um desvio para vir a este espaço. As doses não são grandes mas são suficientes. Vê-se a atenção, carinho e personalização que fazem com cada prato. Não é um simples restaurante. É diferenciador e os preços são justos. Hoje fui com o meu namorado que faz anos e ainda teve a oferta da sobremesa. Atendimento excelente, continuem o excelente trabalho.

We had an amazing experience on a national festive day, and we had the chance to try some portuguese traditional food. The staff is super nice and the food was really good! The non alcohol wines were a good surprise! Definitely a good option

Caro para o que foi servido ( 8,5€).
Comi seitan com purê e cebola caramelizada.
O seitan parecia borracha e a cebola sabia a queimado.
Na realidade foi o pior prato vegan já comi em todos os aspetos.
Não recomendo de modo algum.
Cons: Mal servido, não vale o valor que é pago.

I couldn’t decide which to choose from the 2 choices for dish of day so they kindly gave me half of each, which was greatly appreciated.
I don’t speak Portuguese but the waitress spoke perfect English.
Down side… there is not a lot of choice but the food I had was great.

We have been to Botellini twice since arriving in Caldas. The three course meals have generous portions, and everything we have tried has been tasty. The weekly list of main dishes is posted on the front door each Sunday. There is a nice outdoor courtyard, where we prefer to eat, though the inside seating area also looks nice.

Very cozy place, friendly staff! Had the dish of the day, was satisfied even though not my preference! Would like to have tried their Risotto but it's only served by night, in any case i hope to be able to come back and try it!

I already tried a lot of vegan restaurantes in/outside the country and this is one of the bests!! Food super tasty and has a lot of varieties during the week. The thematic event at Friday is also great idea. And has a super attentive staff too ☺️ 100% recommended!

Read moreWe enjoyed three courses- all delicious. Before we visited we were particularly interested in the 'fish' and chips, having never tried banana blossom before. It was an unbelievable dish, with amazing flavours- you can tell the chef really knows what he is doing. The fresh juice of the day was lovely too. The staters and deserts were fantastic also. We found the price for the meal very reasonable!
The only shame was not having the time during our visit to go and eat there again! Will definitely be returning next time we are in Portugal.

Botellini is not far from the train station in Caldas, on the opposite side of the tracks from the central part of town.
Read moreThere’s a spacious outdoor eating area as well as the restaurant (which someone with a design eye has created). Nice modern ambiance with a calm feel.
The menu is small but beautifully formed. Two starters, two mains, two desserts, which change (I think) daily.
The chef clearly knows how to cook to a high standard. Our choices were green salad or roasted tomato soup, a tofu/potato/olive dish, which was fine but not stunning or a very flavoursome lasagne. Dessert was coconut panacotta with sticky fruit compote or fruit. There was also one portion left of an epic chocolate mousse - my chocoholic husband said that one of them would satisfy his chocolate cravings for two whole weeks. He was a very happy bunny indeed.
Each course can be bought separately or as a set menu for €8.50 which we thought excellent value.
Freshly squeezed juice, bottles of kombucha or wine/beer also on offer.
This shall become a regular place for us. Delighted to have found it.

This place has a very nice environment, especially liked the outside seating.

From the soup to the main plate, all very well balanced and tasteful.
Form both deserts I was able to try the pena cota was a bit too sweet, the pie had a great crust on the top.
Interesting choices on zero percent wine and beer selections.
Unfortunately the had no coffee options, not a deal breaker for me, but I do enjoy some from time to time.
The staff was friendly and help providing information when needed.

Amazing food and really friendly staff. We absolutely loved our evening meal at Botellinis. We both had a starter, main and desert, and all three were delicious, the 'fish' and chips is especially impressive! They also have a fresh juice of the day (which was peach on our visit) that we also loved. Simão, the chef, spoke to us about the dishes, restaurant and his roots in the area and was very interesting to talk to. Needless to say we will definitely be visiting again soon, especially since the menu changes seasonally!

Very nice restaurant. We went for dinner and there’s 4 options available. We tried the Summer Salad (amazing) and the Fish and Chips(good but nothing soo special and it’s fried food, so not so healthy. The appetizers: Beet and Mushrooms were delicious.
