Unexpectedly delicious

It’s nice to be able to pick and chose a few sides to make up a full meal. And the pumpkin waffle was so indulgent while feeling a bit healthy too!

Delicious food, kind people!

I had an amazing pumpkin waffle with chai butter! (seasonal option I’m sure). Chatted with one of the owners for a bit who was so kind. They share a cool communal space with a coffee shop, pizza spot, and brewery. Highly recommend checking it out!!

Pros: Great food, Kind people, Community atmosphere

Unique, 90's vegan spot

This place seems to specialize in the kind of food people who were vegan in the 90's talk about. The food just has that "natural foods store in Boulder, CO cold bar" vibe — like "Wild Oats" before it became "Whole Foods."

There are plenty of options for savory and sweet treats. Many gluten free and all vegan. The unique thing about this spot is that everything is cold in a deli case and gets heated up by microwave...it's like eating leftovers, I guess. So, without a doubt, that means you'll sometimes get food that should be hotter, but is still cold in the middle or served lukewarm. Which was my experience. Not great but...the saving grace is that the food is quite good. I got the brussel sprouts, Amy's breakfast — a tofu scramble sort of thing that I wish was served hot(ter), and a sausage hash (pretty sure this was made with TVP). The sausage hash and Brussels were excellent.

My mom ordered the black bean soup too. We heard the staff say that was heated up from frozen. She ate one spoonful and gave up. It was cold. When I asked if she wanted to take it home, she declined.

Also tasted my partner's pumpkin waffle and my mom's buckwheat pancake. They were both fantastic and the chai butter was amazing. Highly recommend getting those if you want something dependably good, made fresh, and served at the right temp!

Fully vegan gem.

This place is 100% vegan from what I could tell. They have a really unique menu with dishes you don't really find at other vegan spots in the area. Staff is very friendly too.

Pros: Friendly staff, Original menu

This little joint is 100% vegan. Fast. And delicious!

The 2 people working there were super kind! My favorite was the cheesy brussel sprouts and kale. I’m not even a big fan of kale and it was dynamite!

Pros: Great food. , Nice folks. , Fast service.

All Plant Based Savory & Sweet

I was walking in downtown Spokane and decided to try Boot’s Bakery in its new location inside the Saranac Commons (just east of the Saranac restaurant). There was no signage for Boots on the street so I first wandered into the Saranac restaurant by mistake, but now I know to pass that restaurant and look for a small sign that says “Saranac Commons”.

Inside is a charming food court with lots of table seating for large and small groups. Boots is 100% plant based and has a wide variety of side dishes, salads, entrees, bakery items (cookies, cinnamon rolls, cakes etc).

I enjoy two roasted vegetable side dishes that made a perfect amount for lunch (I’m a small woman). They heated them so I could enjoy them hot. I also had a pecan roll for dessert that I planned to take home but ended up eating most it there because it was so good! My lunch of two side dishes and pecan roll came to $20 before tip.

Note that coffee drinks are available from another vender in the food court.

This is definitely a favorite vegan food stop for me when I’m in Spokane.

Pros: Vintage cafe atmosphere , Great selection of nutritious food , Delicious baked goods

Cons: Street parking sometimes full

Go for the waffle. Stay for the sides. Biscuits & gravy = magical!

We have enjoyed Boots for years. And it is great to see them re-make themselves in the new location. She said they are already expanding. Bringing back the Bar!
The biscuits and gravy were a revelation = LOVE!

Vegan waffles 🧇

I love this place! Awesome vibe; all vegan except some diary milk for coffee, etc. It's mostly deli-style food and bakery. Definitely try the waffles - they are seriously so good!

Puts the deli in delicious

Make sure you set your expectations before coming here. With the exception of the absolutely perfect pumpkin waffles, the food isn't made to order, and that's okay! There's a wide variety of options that are constantly changing (with a few stand-by exceptions). There's a lot of breakfast foods, but there are more time-agnostic dishes like rice and pasta.
The decor is eclectic and fun (the tale of two Samuels is my favorite booth), and the staff are very friendly and helpful!
Boots is a weekly staple for my wife and I.

Great place for breakfast

I was initially not a huge fan when we first moved to the area, but recently we gave it another shot at a friend's recommendation and have been going here almost every weekend since! You have to be on board with choosing your savory food options from a display case and then having it microwaved for you. When I first went, I was expecting the food to be made to order, but now keeping in mind it's deli style and meant to be heated from cold, I think the choices are great! There is always a lot to choose from, and it changes from day to day but I always have a hard time picking just a couple. My very favorite part of eating at Boot's, though, is their pumpkin waffles. These ARE made to order and come out hot, fresh, and topped with incredible cinnamon butter with a side of maple syrup. I can't get enough of these waffles. They are generously sized so be prepared! The first time I got one all to myself I could barely finish it so highly recommend splitting one if you are getting other sides too.

Neat place

It's vegan except they offer cow milk for coffee for some reason. Gluten free. They really need to address the bottleneck that happens when busy. In 2 visits I saw people leave because of the wait. Also they use a microwave in case you care.

Pros: Pre made food inside a case, You pick the items you want, pay per scoop, They heat it up.

Cons: Not completely vegan, They get mad busy, Can run out of items quickly

Good food, fast

Besides one cows milk for coffee Boots is completely vegan. I’ve gone in for their pumpkin pancakes multiple times and I love trying all the ready to eat salads and goodies they have in the display case. They also make my oat milk hot chocolate “child temp” because I’m a baby with heat!
