Disappointing
I decided to run down to Boots today after a shopping trip at Main Market, having skipped perusing their vegan dessert offerings to do so. Part of the metalwork at the entrance of the outdoor seating area was broken, leaving a broken metal bar hanging where someone could run into it with no sign of any effort to fix it or rope off the area. Damage happens, but please think of the safety of your customers. Inside, the store is cute. Prices are fairly high - a 3/4 cup serving of the entree/side selections is $4. Ingredients are not listed so if you have allergies, you'll need to ask about each item. There is a sign low on the window outside that says vegan, but if you miss that and aren't familiar with the cafe, it won't be obvious the selections are vegan - multiple items marked sausage, etc, with no clarification. Maybe it's noted inside and I didn't see it. I get the feeling they're trying to be low key to cater to the general population (as with cow milk offerings for coffee drinks). The desserts are equally high priced (my choice, a fruit bar, was over $5 with tax), though the size is easily multiple servings so can be split with a friend. I prefer to support local businesses and service can make up a lot for higher prices. Sadly, I can't say that was the case either. Using my debit card to pay, the staffer flipped the screen at me and walked away... I had to ask if we were done. No "thank you". Nothing. Upon leaving, my friend immediately commented on his rudeness. I know this is a smaller town with few vegan options, but without good customer service, people won't come back. Next time, I'll just hit up Main Market's bakery case or just bake my own at home.
Pros: Vegan options
Cons: Expensive, Poor customer service

Every single food item had a label that said vegan, gluten free, and one other (probably whether or not it included nuts). They are literally on cards next to every single thing in the food display case. Plus, when I inquired the staff told me that all food was vegan.

DENIED SERVICE. - Edit
I was rudely denied service because I apparently did not look like the photo on my state issued ID. I was appalled.
