Good selection - Edit
We had a lot of options. We really liked the soft pretzels with vegan cheese sauce. Appreciate that there is a children’s menu with veganizable options too.

Saranac - Edit
The baked pretzels with smoky vegan cheese are a favorite of many, myself included. I enjoyed the jackfruit banh mi, which is a recent addition to the menu. They also have vegan mac & cheese, and other items that can be made vegan by subbing with tofu, like a Thai flatbread, a Thai rice bowl, and a yaki udon stir-fry.

Decent amount of vegan options so could be great to come with a small group and try them all! We tried the pretzels, mac n cheese, and the yaki udon stir fry. will definitely be coming back to try more of the menu

Thoughtful Options - Edit
Vegan options are clearly labeled and thoughtfully prepared. This place goes beyond the “salad you can customize to be vegan” and offers foods like vegan mac and cheese or Thai rice bowls (although they do have a hummus platter for an appetizer—can’t complain about the classics!) I was also touched to see their efforts to support an employee who is battling cancer. This is a place you can feel good spending your money.

Eclectic menu with vegan options - Edit
Very impressed with the menu selection at Saranac. We ordered food to go and had a hard time choosing, eventually going with udon noodles and tofu and vegan mac n cheez. Both were very tasty! The cheez sauce was a little soupy and I am pretty sure there were still bits of cashew in the sauce, but overall very delicious. Portions were substantial, and we ended up with leftovers for dinner. Win!

Huge Favorite - Edit
I know that Boots is right across the street but Saranacs is more my taste. Vegan Mac, stir fry noodles, pretzels with vegan cheese dip, and a great burger. I used to come here every time I was in town, now that we live here less, but it's still a place we can depend on to be great.

Delicious Mac and cheese! - Edit
I loved the vegan Mac and cheese. It was great to be able to sit down and have Mac and cheese at a restaurant alongside a non-vegan friend. I would definitely recommend this place to other vegans and I will be returning next time I’m in the area!

great vegan options - Edit
The vegan macaroni and cheese is lit. I went there with my friends on a very busy day, they all enjoyed they're meals, the only problem was we waited so long to be seated and get our food. But the service isn't usually like that, we went there on bloomsday so the place was packed. I would recommend people go their, just not on bloomsday or any other day like that. They had a lot of vegan options, so you can pick through a pretty good list of vegan stuff.

Great vegan options! - Edit
I was impressed by the menu at this restaurant. There were more vegan options than the usual restaurant that has one token vegan item or none at all. My noodles were delicious, and my friend loved the vegan mac n cheese. The non vegans with us also liked their meals. The only problem was the service, but we were there on an unusually busy day (bloomsday) so I don't think that is the norm.

Great vegan options! - Edit
Going to a non-vegetarian restaurant, I usually don't expect much. But, this place had multiple options on the menu for me. I ended up ordering the vegan Mac and cheese, which was AWESOME! I have made so many versions of this, and theirs was surprisingly delicious. That plus a house salad, which had organic greens, Apple, and hazelnuts, and I had a really great meal!

Good vegan options - Edit
I had dinner here my first night in Spokane and had a hit and miss experience. It's a funky (in a good way) place with a lot of vegan options on the menu. Hits -- the warm pretzels with the vegan cheese sauce (good, but sauce was not very warm and was pretty bland), and the polenta appetizer (very good and a decent portion). Miss -- the black bean chili, which was the blandest chili I've ever eaten. Seriously, it tasted like it didn't even have salt in it, much less any other spices. I would come back for the polenta!

Vegan options clearly marked - Edit
This is a really nice little restaurant, classy decor and all. What I appreciated most is that their vegan options are very clearly marked, and there are plenty of them. The food was mostly hit, with a few misses. To start with, the vegan pretzel appetizer was AMAZING - do not miss it. It was a warm, homemade pretzel (2 actually), with a delicious dipping sauce. Very original and, honestly, one of the better things I've eaten in the last few years. My flatbread was less exciting. Tasty, but a bit dry. The Vegan Mac and Cheese was good, not great; The vegan burger was quite good, though not exceptional. Still, it was a good meal overall, if not a spectacular (pretzel excluded - that thing was sensational.). I give this four cows which is my actual rating - even though that is the limit for a Veg Friendly (I hate the Happy Cow limitations), that's all I would give.

Love the food! - Edit
Saranac has several vegan dishes on their menu which are all amazing. Specials rotate and often include vegan options as well and they offer a kids menu too. One thing I don't like is their servers. They are friendly, but not well trained and lack knowledge. I had to argue with a server that black tea is usually caffeinated unless marked. Stupid, right? If you can get past the servers, your experience will be great.
