Very cheap but vegan options suck - Edit
Beyu has 3 main vegan courses on their menu - a salad and 2 sandwiches (one burger, one sausage sandwich). Unfortunately, none of their bread is vegan so ordering one of the main courses would mean getting a sausage/burger on a salad with a side, which seems like a poor substitute for vegans.😒Not sure why they don’t carry a vegan bread since that’s fairly easy to find. The service has been not great when we were there either and the food was OK. The main pro is that this place is super cheap for downtown Durham and is the closest thing you can find downtown to inexpensive vegan food.

Cons: Vegan options require ridiculous substitutions, Service is lacking

Cozy cafe with vegan options - Edit
Really cute cafe with live music at night. Vegan chocolate mousse is to die for. Great place to stop and get drinks and/or dessert when walking around downtown Durham after dinner.

vegetarian chef open to accomodating vegans - Edit
As of March 2016 the Chef (Destiny) is a vegetarian and open to working with vegans. She is a participating chef in the 2016 Bull City Vegan Challenge event and has created a 3-course meal including dessert. The challenge is only for one month (April 2016) but the hope is she will keep the items on the menu. There are other menu items that are vegan including a thai curry. One of the best things on the menu though is the vegan chocolate mousse! Soy milk is an option for lattes. Great place to see jazz and have a drink too.

Strongly recommended - Edit
I had the house salad, which was great: a wide variety of salad vegetables, all tasting really fresh, with a very light salad dressing. Delicious.
