Serves meat, vegan options available. Burger joint & bar but menu has a section listing two vegan burgers: Beyond burger & black bean burger. Burger comes standard with fried kale chips which you could ask to substitute for raw kale. Has vegan toppings such as jalapeno jelly and pineapple. Menu also lists a hummus appetizer.

Vegan patty with brioche bun? - Edit
Also, the sweet potato fries were served with a caramel honey glaze, if I remember correctly. I was told the brioche could be replaced with a tortilla or a hoagie bun. On a positive note, they do serve Empowered Plant Cakes for dessert.

Delicious Food, Fun Atmosphere - Edit
I love the brewery/tap house vibe. They have a few vegan/vegetarian options, my wife and I got burgers and it was some delicious vegan junk food!

Awesome Vegetarian Burgers! - Edit
This review is a revision of one I provided several years ago when this restaurant operated under the name “Craft Burger Bar.” At that point, it was one of the few places in town you could get a vegan burger, and it had a fun vibe. Well the restaurant still has a great atmosphere, in the intervening years it has become fairly easy to eat vegan in Virginia Beach restaurants, and we found it virtually impossible to come up with a satisfying vegan meal in this restaurant this weekend. In fact, after looking forward to our meal, we ended up leaving without ordering and instead getting a vegan pizza at a place just around the corner.
Read moreThere is avocado toast and hummus on the appetizer menu, but the wait staff was unable to tell us whether the accompanying bread was vegan. These items are NOT tagged as vegetarian or vegan.
The menu does have a dedicated burger section labeled “FOR THE VEGGIES.” However, the Impossible Burger is a lettuce wrap because the only burger buns available are brioche, which contain egg. There’s also a black bean burger available, but nobody could tell us if the burger was vegan, and it was served with a brioche bun, clearly showing no intent to create a vegan option for this item. The menu shows other sandwiches described as served on Ciabatta bread, which often is vegan, so it seems like a tiny bit if additional thought and care would allow a more plant-based burger options.
Also, the dessert menu lists something called “empowered plant cake.”
Food looked & smelled good.
Thus, my guess is that this bar may be an excellent option fir vegetarians but have little, if anything, fir vegans despite the claim of a veggie menu section.

Consistently Great - Edit
I’ve been here many times and I’ve never been disappointed. The black bean burger is amazing. The sweet potato and regular fries are always crispy and well seasoned. They do offer kale chips, but they were really burnt the one time I ordered them and haven’t tried them again.

Good food, bad service - Edit
The beyond burger and fries were delicious!! The service was just pretty bad. The restaurant was almost completely empty and our waitress barely checked on us one time and was talking to a coworker at the bar almost the whole time. She got my friend's drink wrong, never gave another friend her sauce, and our drink went empty.

They've got the Beyond Patty and you can have it fixed up anyway you want it. Nice!

Fair - Edit
The atmosphere is pleasant, the waitress was extremely nice and helpful. While the menu boasts of two vegan burgers extremely strict vegans should beware that they are prepared on the same grill as the meat items. I can’t speak to the taste as I’m one of those strict vegans while my son however did enjoy the meat version.

We enjoyed a delicious beyond burger with grilled pineapple and dank jalepeno jelly! This place was called craft burger so make sure you search barrel 7! They have happy hour every day from 12-8, that’s a happy day!

medium - Edit
I had the bean burger with "kale chips." The bean burger was really medium... Like they just mashed a couple different types of beans together. Normally bean burgers have some umami but this was just very regular.
Read moreThe kale chips... Wtf. Not dehydrated like real chips. Just burnt. Completely dry. NO seasoning, not even Olive oil. Like they just crumble like newspaper ashes. Do yourself a favor and upgrade to fries.
If I HAD to go back I'd try the beyond meat burger.
Pros: vegan burgers, parking lot, friendly staff
Cons: kale chips terrible, bean burger disappointing
