Awesome Vegan Burgers

Frank & Patty’s is a super popular burger & dog spot in Virginia Beach’s vibe district. It is so popular, that there’s almost always a wait for a table. But the food is AWESOME and vegans get the same deliciousness as other customers.

The menu here is tiny—for everyone. The restaurant offers a short list of smash burger variations, a hot dog (not vegan), a salad, and fries. Plus cocktails—really excellent cocktails. There’s a vegan smash burger cooked on a dedicated grill away from the meat-based burgers & dogs. The vegan burger is dressed up like their other burgers: it comes with vegan cheese, grilled onions, pickles, and a vegan goodboy sauce on a vegan potato bun. It is YUMMY! You can get regular fries or “FP Style” fries, with goodboy sauce, cheese, & grilled onions. The Frank and Patty’s folks happily veganize these fancy fries by using vegan cheese and the vegan goodboy sauce. They also offer a wedge salad that can be Veganized by omitting the bacon and using vegan goodboy sauce rather than regular goodboy sauce. We like this place because we can go with our non-vegan friends and feel like we get to eat the same kind of food they do rather than stripping off all the goodies. 

The menu offers only one dessert: banana pudding—NOT vegan. I wish they’d develop a vegan version.
