Overrated - Edit
Good cocktails. We tried the curry fries, Cubano, and a couple of their sides. The food was not it for me, not a big fan of the flavor profile or the texture of the seitan. Nice that it’s all vegan, but I would not come back. Also crazy expensive and we were not comped for a basically untouched entree.

Amazing Carribean infusion restaurant! I ordered delivery because I had just gotten in from the airport. The food was so flavorful and fresh, even with delivery! The Mofongo does not disappoint!

A new fave! - Edit
We ordered the Mofongo to start and it was amazing 😍 It’s like a lightly fried dumpling in a flavorful tomato sauce. So good! Then we ordered the Seitan Cubano, the Buss Up Shut and a side of Callaloo (stewed collards). Everything was so good!!! We especially liked the Buss Up Shut. It has lots of veggies and so much flavor. We used the roti to scoop up our stewed greens 👌👌👌 highly recommend! The Cubano was also good, but the real star was the black eyed peas we got with it. We’re boxing up what we can’t finish because it’s too good.

I was a skeptic, but now I’m a believer - Edit
When I looked at the menu online I was hesitant. My wife really wanted to try it. We had reservations for 5 pm but we got into town early and we were starving so we showed up at 3:30 and they were happy to seat us. The vibe was great, everyone was so nice. The drinks were so delicious and the food was so amazing. All I could think the whole time we were here was “man I wish we had one of these in Santa Cruz.

Vegan cubano - Edit
Never enjoyed a Cuban sandwich as a meat eater but now, as a vegan, can’t get enough. This spot has a great vegan Cuban! They also have a pineapple salsa that’s absolutely delicious!

Chic place, okay food - Edit
This place has chic elegance. What I ate here – lo mein — tasted OK, though it was a little heavy on the sauce. Nonetheless, the meal was very filling. In all, the food rates about a three and the atmosphere at five, so I split the difference and giving them four stars.

The food is very unimpressive - Edit
I've been here twice and honestly the food is not good. The restaurant itself is cool and nicely decorated but the food ain't it! The best thing on the menu is the desert plantains haha. I guess it's a cool date spot, but I wouldn't recommend eating a meal there.

I ate here about a year ago. I was really excited. It's a cool space but the food is just ok. That was pretty much everyone's assessment at my table and we all got different things.

Interesting menu, generous portions - Edit
Bang Up to the Elephant is a colorful spot with a lot of character and friendly service. The food we had was pretty good and the portions were generous enough that we had to take some home. Service was friendly. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating (weather permitting).

My favorite denver spot! - Edit
Bang Up to the Elephant is one of my favorite Denver restaurants. It’s fully vegan and all the food we tried was absolutely phenomenal. The flavors were so unique and the restaurant ambiance was 10/10. I mean… seriously the bar is so cute. We ordered the curried fries (wow), coconut curry, and mofungo (yum). Im still drooling days later.

This place rules. I've eaten virtually everything on their menu, and everything is delicious, filling and relatively healthy. They also offer top tier tiki drinks.

Found the food interesting and yummy and got the sense the owners truly care about the environment and were thoughtful about how they used the space. No concerts when we were there but we saw a great looking venue there as well.

Overpriced and slow, but some solid dishes - Edit
We really liked the fun decor and vibe of this restaurant upon entering. Our table was ready and we got right in. We ordered cocktails and appetizers, but at that point the service really slowed. We didn’t see our server for 15 minutes, and our appetizers came out way before our drinks. The plantain chips with friends was very underwhelming, mostly corn chips with just a few fried plantains thrown in. The sauces were good, but there were only two and we ran out very quickly. The starter tacos, a.k.a. “Doubles” had incredible flavor, definitely the best thing we ate the whole time there, but was still a poor experience S the taco was literally wrapped in paper and dropped onto our table without a word. We expected the order to contain 2 tacos but it only contained 1, that wasn’t clear from the very limited menu. Our entrees were good, especially the coconut curry. Dessert would have been welcomed, but there were none on the menu. The cocktails were pricey but delicious. All in all, we left with full bellies and smiles, but also a big bill and a lot of wasted time later. Mildly disappointing.
