Accommodating and helpful! - Edit
Got there a little bit before closing but they still sat us and had a full menu available. They also had an English menu - food (especially the mochi) was delicious

Delicious fried rice and shrimp with lime and pineapple - Edit
The dishes we ordered were really good: the fried rice was flavorful, especially with the addition of the mock meat, the amaranth leaves came with mushrooms and goji berries, and the fried shrimp with lime and pineapple in a white konjac sauce was a unique dish for me but equally a flavor bomb (love that tangy lime taste). It looks like mayonnaise but it isn't!

Nice meals. - Edit
This is a lovely restaurant serving up dishes using locally-grown ingredients. There is an extensive selection of items to choose from, I love their 'danbing' (that can be made without eggs and dairy) and DIY mochi (contains dairy). Dishes are labelled as vegan or vegetarian (although only in Chinese characters). The prices are reasonable and the quality is excellent. They have an English menu available.

Amazinggg mochi, rest okay - Edit
Most dishes were okay for me (seafood instant noodles, spicy fried noodles “quiche” without egg, hot ‘n wild vegetables), but the mochi was a fantastic find. After many months in Japan I didn’t expect to be blown away by mochi in Taiwan like this. But it was sooo soft and stretchy, absolute perfection. It’s warabi style mochi with 6 flavour options, can be made vegan or vegetarian. The staff is very nice and speaks some English.

Pros: Try the mochi
Cons: And the rest is alright

Good luck finding what you want - Edit
The staff are nice enough but communication is challenging and they don't have English menus. Wanted to order some fried rice and somehow ended up with mapo tofu, which was fine. If you're grateful just to have something vegetarian/vegan then it's worth a stop, but there's gotta be better than this in Hualien.

Delicious traditional Taiwanese food - Edit
Delicious authentic taiwanese food, price was good but less cheap than in the rest of Hualien.
Read moreVery nice staff, barely spoke English but tried to recommend food to share and explain what we got.
Menu is only in Chinese, but the vegan items are clearly listed (全素).
If you want the Mapo Tofu, ask it to be less spicy unless you really really like Szechuan Pepper.

Pros: Clear distinction between vegan and vegetarian, Delicious food

Great taiwanese veggie food, friendly service - Edit
Pick items from the menu, the friendly service who makes an effort to speak English will tell you a little about each dish. Plenty of options, some vegetarian, some vegan. Some of the best food we had in Taiwan.
