STUNNING - Edit
I loved this place! A simple interior and amazing food! The happy cow opening times are wrong, so make sure you check Google for them cause that’s what I went off and it’s kind of hidden down a little alley so make sure you look for it!

Great food - Edit
We stumbled upon this restaurant, all thanks to my kuya, and what an incredible experience it turned out to be! We didn’t have a reservation, so when we arrived, the place was packed and just about to close. We thought we’d missed our shot. But as we were about to leave, someone—who I think was one of the owners—ran after us and kindly invited us back inside. Such a sweet and thoughtful gesture!
Read moreBy then, they only had noodle soup and kimbap left on the menu since it was nearly closing time. We went ahead and ordered those, and wow, were we glad we did! The food was absolutely delicious! The restaurant itself is small but incredibly cozy, with a traditional Korean-Japanese floor seating style, which made the whole experience even more memorable. I should mention—this was my kuya’s first meal out after his surgery, and I couldn’t help but wonder how he was going to manage getting up from the floor afterward! 🤣😂😅
The food was amazing—not too salty, not greasy at all, just perfectly balanced. And their kimchi? So good! I’m already looking forward to coming back and exploring more of their menu.

Clearly marked vegan options - Edit
Each category of food had a vegan option. Lots of mock meat. Really cute atmosphere (floor seating).

Great Korean food - Edit
This is a cute little Korean vegetarian restaurant set in an old Japanese-style house. The dishes that I have eaten here are delicious, and can be easily made fully vegan upon request. You will sit on the floor next to low tables in the renovated interior to enjoy your meal. It is essential to book ahead and the only way to make a reservation is through their instagram or facebook page, as they don't have a phone number. There is no English, so use a translator if you can. You might be able to try your luck and just turn up but it can often be quite busy. I am still rating it five stars as it is a rare vegetarian Korean gem in Hualien.

Busy and cute Korean place - Edit
Very clear vegan/vegetarian labels. Pretty busy when we visited (on a Friday night) I got the “everything plate” (布帳馬車拼盤, not sure what it means) and really appreciated that I got to try a bit* of everything. (The potion is actually pretty big IMO, so more than “a bit”) The place is not big, might be better to make a reservation (we were lucky, we got there early so managed to get a table without a reservation)

Cons: They use Taiwanese chopsticks, not Korean ones
