Buffet
Indonesian

A hippy-ish buffet restaurant. The kitchen puts out plenty of trays of vegetarian mains (main vegan), sides, desserts, many fruits, drinks (teas, juices, access to a smoothie maker) and even kombucha. A lot of the food is Indonesian style with more variety than your typical warung. Serve own food buffet style, then leave the money in a jar on your table (it is pay as you feel with suggested prices) then wash own dishes. Everything in the place is recycled and it's more than likely people will be doing yoga or playing music around a fire. Previously located at Jalan Suweta 32. Open Mon-Sun 10:00am-8:00pm.

Cute little place

The place is I’m such a cute little setting. There are heaps of yummy options to make a nice lunch or dinner, but there is a lot of tofu and the oh so if you don’t eat soy there isn’t too much options. But I still loved the rice and pumpkin. It tells you how to calculate how much your food would cost, ours was normally 30-35k each

Pros: Yummy cheap food, Beautiful setting

Cons: Too much tofu and temph for me

calm and beautiful place

It's a very nice place where you can eat from a buffet and depending on your portion you can make a donation for the food. The vibe is good here, friendly people, many plants, books and it's very calm, away from busy ubud center

Great food and atmosphere

This is definitely a place to go! It's a bit hidden but don't give up. Great atmosphere, amazing staff, tasty food and fair price! Actually you pay as you feel in a jar that sits on the table and we just loved this concept. Even though we arrived quite late the owner made sure we had everything we wanted/needed. There was group of people playing guitar and singing which made the experience even better!

Pros: Great atmosphere , Pay as you feel, Great food

Cons: None

best kept secret in Ubud

My partner and I read about this place. We’ve now been twice with more visits to come.
The food is super tasty and is freshly prepared with the chef always cooking something new whilst we’re munching away on the variety of offerings.
Each time we’ve been the buffet has been different, so you won’t get bored.
The pay as you feel (they do have recommended prices which are super cheap (6,000 INR per dish you scoop onto your plate)) concept is a brilliant - and the artistic vibe of the place is amazing.
If you’re in Ubud, and want great tasting food in a quirky yet inviting environment you have to visit 9 Angles

Pros: all the food options , environment , price

Cons: none that I can see

AMAZING place and community

I went there twice : One for dinner, which was kind of a buffet with little food bowls and you pay per bowl. Pretty cheap, all vegan food. You can buy crunchy tempeh and taro crisps to take away. The tempeh blew my mind! I came here the next morning to help preparing the food with two super nice ladies and got the chance to learn how to make their amazing corn fritters, among other dishes. The place is really nice, with a huge outdoor area, homemade kombucha, and live music in the evening. I loved it !

Cool concept, but too overpriced

When we came in I thought there will be plenty of vegan options to choose from, however the offered menu was very small (only rice, soup and tofu and pumpkin boats). We also didn't find it that cheap to be honest - paying over 40k and leaving kind of hungry... Didn't come back.

Pros: Cool hippie concept

Cons: Not so cheap, Very few options, Difficult to find

Great concept

This isn't really a pay as you feel place. Pay what it is worth, based on honesty. Or give something of actual value to the business in return. Food needs to come from somewhere and there are expenses associated with that. And I think we can all agree PAYF places have it hard enough as it is. Please don't disrespect.

Pros: lots of vegan, majority, cheap, best people I've met in Bali - tourists

Cons: no wifi (not really a con), can be tricky to find if not looking

Great with some caution

The restaurant staff are wonderful as is the totally laid back nature of the place. Quite large peaceful space, has books to browse. No service, you get your own food, add up and pay your own bill, wash you own dishes. Food for the most part is tasty and prices are low.

I would cation - there are a number of dogs and cats that hang out there, some of the cats looks quite sick, and they do run around the kitchen, on the counter tops, etc.

Pros: Staff, Food variety and taste, Price

Cons: Hygiene

awesome all around

I hang out here most of the time, it's mostly because my rainbow family is here but also great food even though I'm mostly fruitarian I like to try what they make because it's so clean vegan simple and so tasty. You pay what you eat with lots of art and music inside.

Hidden Treasure

9 Angels Warung is out of the crazy tourist filled streets of central Ubud and is a great place to eat, drink and relax. It can be difficult to find, use the map and drive slowly up the hill, it will be a small alley on your right (or left if you are coming down) there is a white wall with a painting of angels and the name on the side (easier to see coming down the hill). Follow the angels and you can park your moped and head in (shoes off of course ;-)

Self serve, all you can eat, pay as you feel, make your own lunch, smoothies, teas. It is a no profit place that even has its own charity shop inside. People are playing music and doing yoga. The variety of food is really good, some of the best food I had Ubud, Indonesian style Warung food, all delicious.

Pros: Affordable, Delicious, Atmosphere
