Good Food, Atmosphere Meh - Edit
If you're really craving vegan Indian food like I was, this place will do the trick. The food was very good. It was the service and atmosphere that was lacking.
Read moreIt's open-air with no AC and only a few fans. If you ask, staff will gladly turn on a fan for you.
One of my servers spoke very little English. I could tell from her answers to my questions she thought "vegan" meant "vegetarian." I asked a different server. He spoke English well, knew exactly what vegan meant and showed me every vegan item on their huge menu.
I had to ask for extra napkins to keep the flies off my food although I found this to be the case in all open-air restaurants in Bali. Not sure why they don't serve the food covered, at least with a mesh cover, for sanitation purposes.
This restaurant has a prominent location a block uphill from Monkey Forest. In another city I might give this place 4 stars, but with so many vegan restaurants in Ubud you're better off going elsewhere unless you're craving Indian food.
Pros: Vegan and Jain items
