A great hidden gem - Edit
Once you look past the slightly odd location, you can appreciate the amazing food and one of the most passionate humans I've ever met: Anthony (owner).
Read moreThe ever-changing hand-written menu was full of yummy options. As it was breakfast time, we went for a breakfast JustEgg scramble (first time trying this vegan egg) and crispy homed fries. We had homemade iced tea which was amazing and Anthony let us try some of his homemade seitan, which my partner said was the best he'd ever tried.
Pros: Personable , Tasty food, Lovely sourced products and eco friendly packaging
Cons: Random location, No signage

Amazing Lunch!!! - Edit
Even though it was a little hard to find so worth it!! Anthony was amazing and everything is made fresh right in front of you. The buffalo seitan had just the right spiciness!! Accompanied with brown rice and sautéed greens and mushrooms! Delicious food and a great vibe!

Amazing Food & Service - Edit
There is no sign outside but you just got into the building marked 111 and it is the first place after the sign in on the right. There is no sign outside at the moment but he is working on getting that soon.

A true gem for vegan in Hartford! - Edit
ZoJu is a true gem, tucked away within the Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) building, giving you a speak-easy vibe. You can enter through the front and talk to security to enter or the entrance around the back.
Read moreI ordered both breakfast and lunch on my way to the office. For breakfast, I had the Sausage & Cheez Sandwich with Just Egg. The sausage in the sandwich was well spiced and so delicious in a soft roll. Chef Anthony also provided a homemade sauce with cayenne and tumeric that paired nicely with the Just Egg. For lunch, I ordered what Chef Anthony recommended, the A1 BBQ Seitan with a side of seasonal local kale, mushrooms and scallions. To have the best eating experience, chef Anthony shared re-heating instructions. Everything was delicious.
Chef Anthony is clearly passionate about cooking and serving delicious, healthy foods. Thank you!
Highly recommend for a quick breakfast or lunch if you are in Hartford area.

Nice spot! - Edit
Hard to find - no signage outside. You go around the right side of the building to a propped open door to get in.

1 man show with rotating menu. Very much still feels like a place getting its legs under itself, but everything was delicious! Will be back.
